Any idea of curb weight of a C60?
I've spent a lot of time searching the web for the weight of a truck comparable to a 77 GMC 6000 or Chevy C60, but come up empty. It has a 350, single axle (standard) with a steel flatbed with wood deck. My guess based upon some shipping sites is around 9000-9500 lbs dry weight.
Can anyone help? Trying to get this thing hauled on a rollback, but has to be less than 10k lbs and not sure how to better determine weight. thanks! |
Re: Any idea of curb weight of a C60?
The cab and chassis is gonna be pretty light. depends on frame length I would guess 6000-6500 after that it depends on the bed. how long is it? is the wood steel coated? does it have a dump?

Re: Any idea of curb weight of a C60?
one other thing that can drastically raise or lower weight is the axles/ springs. as I recall a c60 could be ordered anywhere between 22500 and 36000 gvw with single rear axle. it takes a lot more metal for the extra weight.

Re: Any idea of curb weight of a C60?
it has a 7k front axle and 22k rear axle. no steel coating-just the edge and headboard is steel. No dump either-I would have guessed that could have added anther 2k. Wheel base is about 19'6" (it's 20'6" from front bumper to rear wheel)
I think it's less than 10k-thanks! |
Re: Any idea of curb weight of a C60?
My 63 C80 is right around 8000 lbs, it is a single rear axle with a fifth wheel to pull a trailer. Should be less than that.
