Bagged on a lift question

Does any special care need to be taken when putting a bagged truck on a lift? Meaning, is there any harm to the bags by lifting the truck with the wheels on and letting them hang while I work under the truck? Is it better to remove the wheels and lessen the strain on the bags?

I would not be lifting it for an extended period of time, just a few hours at a time to do maintenance, clean up the bottom side of the truck and apply an undercoating.

Thanks

Re: Bagged on a lift question

Normally,... on a properly engineered bag system,... the length of the shocks extended, will protect the bag from damage.
If this is not the case,... I would suggest install some sort of limit strap to the suspension.

Re: Bagged on a lift question

I haven't put it on the lift to test yet, but I'll check the shock support before it gets 5 feet up in the air. Thanks for the info.

Re: Bagged on a lift question

Damage also depends on type of bag. Some bags will rip apart (sleeve type) before others (convoluted) so it's especially important to verify the limitations.

I used to work for Ridetech and keith (lowlife99) is correct as long as the air spring double convoluted or sleeve is limited you will be fine, but while lifted or suspension is at droop make sure the bags are deflated
