67-72 Suburban and Panel production numbers
This is a list of production numbers taken from a book, that is often quoted here in the forum. I have removed the Pick ups, chassis only, and 1 tons. Purely for the Suburban and Panel truck owners, wondering roughly how many Chevrolet Suburbans/Panels were produced (GMC not included).
This information is from the "standard catalog of American Light-Duty Trucks, 3rd edition". 1967 1/2-Ton Commercial - Model C/Series 10 - 127-in. w.b MODEL BODY TYPE PRICE WEIGHT PROD.TOTAL CS10905 Panel 2742 3502 3827 CS10906 Suburban 2986 3670 5164 1/2-Ton Commercial 4x4 - Model K/Series 10 - 127-in. w.b MODEL BODY TYPE PRICE WEIGHT PROD.TOTAL KS10905 Panel 3422 - 30 KS10906 Suburban 3666 3670 166 3/4-Ton Commercial - Model C/Series 20 - 127-in. w.b MODEL BODY TYPE PRICE WEIGHT PROD.TOTAL CS20905 Panel 2884 3917 940 CS20906 Suburban 3170 4093 709 3/4-Ton Commercial 4x4 - Model C/Series 20 - 127-in. w.b MODEL BODY TYPE PRICE WEIGHT PROD.TOTAL KS10905 Panel 3286 - 8 KS10906 Suburban 3850 - 120 1968 1/2-Ton Commercial - Model C/Series 10 - 127-in. w.b MODEL BODY TYPE PRICE WEIGHT PROD.TOTAL CE10905 Panel 2839 3641 4801 CE10906 Suburban 3081 3809 11004 1/2-Ton Commercial 4x4 - Model K/Series 10 - 127-in. w.b MODEL BODY TYPE PRICE WEIGHT PROD.TOTAL KE10905 Panel 3393 4123 59 KE10906 Suburban 3667 4212 4259 3/4-Ton Commercial - Model C/Series 20 - 127-in. w.b MODEL BODY TYPE PRICE WEIGHT PROD.TOTAL CE20905 Panel 2981 4035 1572 CE20906 Suburban 3264 4217 1573 3/4-Ton Commercial 4x4 - Model C/Series 20 - 127-in. w.b MODEL BODY TYPE PRICE WEIGHT PROD.TOTAL KE10905 Panel 3534 4111 68 KE10906 Suburban 3611 4215 299 1969 1/2-Ton Commercial - Model C/Series 10 - 127-in. w.b MODEL BODY TYPE PRICE WEIGHT PROD.TOTAL CE10905 Panel 2960 3724 5492 CE10906 Suburban 3194 3815 14056 1/2-Ton Commercial 4x4 - Model K/Series 10 - 127-in. w.b MODEL BODY TYPE PRICE WEIGHT PROD.TOTAL KE10905 Panel 3513 3935 - KS10906 Suburban 3749 4024 - 3/4-Ton Commercial - Model C/Series 20 - 127-in. w.b MODEL BODY TYPE PRICE WEIGHT PROD.TOTAL CE20905 Panel 3172 4093 1779 CE20906 Suburban 3447 4199 2736 3/4-Ton Commercial 4x4 - Model C/Series 20 - 127-in. w.b MODEL BODY TYPE PRICE WEIGHT PROD.TOTAL KE10906 Suburban 4040 4316 545 1970 1/2-Ton Commercial - Model C/Series 10 - 127-in. w.b MODEL BODY TYPE PRICE WEIGHT PROD.TOTAL CS10905 Panel 3040 3730 3965 CS10906 Suburban(doors) 3250 3862 11332 1/2-Ton Commercial 4x4 - Model K/Series 10 - 127-in. w.b MODEL BODY TYPE PRICE WEIGHT PROD.TOTAL KS10905 Panel 3641 3923 - KS10906 Suburban 3849 4055 - 3/4-Ton Commercial - Model C/Series 20 - 127-in. w.b MODEL BODY TYPE PRICE WEIGHT PROD.TOTAL CS20905 Panel 3269 3991 1032 CS20906 Suburban 3441 4113 2246 3/4-Ton Commercial 4x4 - Model C/Series 20 - 127-in. w.b MODEL BODY TYPE PRICE WEIGHT PROD.TOTAL KE10905 Panel 4019 4221 - KE10906 Suburban 4190 4343 541 1971 1/2-Ton Commercial - Model C/Series 10 - 127-in. w.b MODEL BODY TYPE PRICE WEIGHT PROD.TOTAL CS10906 Suburban(doors) 3599 3862 4550 CS10906 Suburban(gate) 3631 3870 5395 1/2-Ton Commercial 4x4 - Model K/Series 10 - 127-in. w.b MODEL BODY TYPE PRICE WEIGHT PROD.TOTAL KS10906 Suburban(doors) 4226 4191 631 KS10906 Suburban(gate) 4256 4191 994 3/4-Ton Commercial - Model C/Series 20 - 127-in. w.b MODEL BODY TYPE PRICE WEIGHT PROD.TOTAL CS20906 Suburban(doors) 3760 4245 1343 CS20906 Suburban(gate) 3791 4253 1203 3/4-Ton Commercial 4x4 - Model C/Series 20 - 127-in. w.b MODEL BODY TYPE PRICE WEIGHT PROD.TOTAL KE10906 Suburban(doors) 4530 4414 256 KE10906 Suburban(gate) 4538 4414 353 1972 1/2-Ton Commercial - Model C/Series 10 - 127-in. w.b MODEL BODY TYPE PRICE WEIGHT PROD.TOTAL CS10906 Suburban(doors) 3495 3862 6748 CS10906 Suburban(gate) 3525 3870 10757 1/2-Ton Commercial 4x4 - Model K/Series 10 - 127-in. w.b MODEL BODY TYPE PRICE WEIGHT PROD.TOTAL KS10906 Suburban(doors) 4273 4206 993 KS10906 Suburban(gate) 4305 4206 2145 3/4-Ton Commercial - Model C/Series 20 - 127-in. w.b MODEL BODY TYPE PRICE WEIGHT PROD.TOTAL CS20906 Suburban(doors) 3650 4245 2136 CS20906 Suburban(gate) 3680 4253 3141 3/4-Ton Commercial 4x4 - Model C/Series 20 - 127-in. w.b MODEL BODY TYPE PRICE WEIGHT PROD.TOTAL KE10906 Suburban(doors) 4275 4141 503 KE10906 Suburban(gate) 4308 4585 879 |

Some really low production numbers on some models.

Re: 67-72 Suburban and Panel production numbers
Are these all 3-doors? Did they make 4-door versions this year?
1969 |
Re: 67-72 Suburban and Panel production numbers
67-72 Suburban were 3 door only.
67-72 Panel were 2 door. Four door Suburban's didn't come around until 1973. Quote:

Re: 67-72 Suburban and Panel production numbers
Wow, the weight seems a bit off to me? a no ups and extras stripped down 72 burg is only 3,800 or so pounds?????? I weighed one of mine on a road trip on a certified scale, 2 adults and a baby (and a 50 lp mini tool kit.....) and came in at 5800 lps......

Re: 67-72 Suburban and Panel production numbers
Thanks for the information! I had just looked this up online when I purchased a 1968 K10 4x4 Panel, I was very surprised there were only 58 produced. I think they only had barn doors in 68. If not it is a V8 4 speed barn door. I was going to make a race car hauler with Yenko graphics and do some mods, but with the rarity, it is now staying stock.

Re: 67-72 Suburban and Panel production numbers
Can anyone shed some light on this.
It is for sale near me and I'd like to know if it was ready made by the general, or if the back windows were just covered up. http://i763.photobucket.com/albums/x...pswicgbrzu.jpg http://baltimore.craigslist.org/cto/5059667695.html |
Re: 67-72 Suburban and Panel production numbers
Hey Jack,
That was on here recently....here's the thread. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=672821 If this doesn't hot link then copy and paste to your address bar or scroll through until you see "CL Maryland half burn/half panel" or something like that a few pages back. Cheers, Rob |
Re: 67-72 Suburban and Panel production numbers
Looks like the back windows were just covered up. The panel trucks only came with two doors. Suburbans came with three, unless I'm mistaken. I wouldn't mind pickin this up for that price even just to part out into my own burb. I like the hoods on these too. Has a little more slant than mine.

Re: 67-72 Suburban and Panel production numbers

Re: 67-72 Suburban and Panel production numbers
I just bought a 72 Chevrolet Suburban 3/4 ton 2wd with fold down tailgate.
It appears by the numbers posted above (copied below) that my truck is 1 of 3141... am I reading that correctly? 3/4-Ton Commercial - Model C/Series 20 - 127-in. w.b MODEL BODY TYPE PRICE WEIGHT PROD.TOTAL CS20906 Suburban(doors) 3650 4245 2136 CS20906 Suburban(gate) 3680 4253 3141 |
Re: 67-72 Suburban and Panel production numbers
Yes, and my 4x4 (gate) would have been 879 made. :ito:
There were 3x as many made in 1/2 ton. Although it seems the 3/4 ton survived more. |
