This guy makes great videos. I thought you all might enjoy watching this video I just came upon. Maybe it's been posted before.

And another

Heartbreaking! I guess everything dies in the end. We can only rescue so many! I like at 3:30 in first vid, for some reason they installed the bumper around the trees? OK bad joke, but it shows how long the trucks sat there to have trees growing between bumper and fenders.
I like some of the comments, I was thinking the same thing, how cool it must have been to drive those in their heyday, drivers with pride and skill taking great care of their trucks

Yes, heartbreaking. IMO I didn't see trucks too far gone. I have seen sites like this, including a fairly local junkyard and personal collections, where trucks were truly too far gone for 99.9% of the people and that .1 percent are crazy . I sure hope they were mostly sold.

This big old Mack Dump could have been in that condition when found. I got to look that truck over right there were it sits. That was at the '15 ATHS Convention at York, PA

It really is. I've seen it at some shows. Got a better listen to it at Macungie before. He has it all freshened up while leaving it be as much as possible.

There is a "ghost town" in Jerome Arizona, im sure its been posted here before. They have a big variety of vehicles and a lot of big trucks just rotting away in the Arizona sun. While I was there a few years ago looking at every single one of them I concluded 90% of them are able to be saved. Talking to the owner who is a very nice guy, everything there is for sale. My wife and I must have sat there on the front bench talking to him for over an hour.

Here's a video of the place. Skip to about 12 minutes in to get straight to the good stuff.

Thanks for sharing. And thanks a whole lot for the tip to skip ahead to 12:00. I opened up YouTube on a second tab, turned the volume down on your video, and listened to music. Much much better!

Cool place.

Actually, AZ is the best place for them to be at.

Would sure like to visit, but the furthest West I've ever been so far is WV, lol.

Thanks for posting it.

Re: Daily Diesel Dose

When my wife and I went out there we landed in LV then drove all around Nevada, Arizona and a little bit of Utah. We looked at everything along the way. That place was the biggest unexpected surprise that we both enjoyed we happened to stumble upon. I have a lot of pictures of it when we were there, they're all on my old phone.

Re: Daily Diesel Dose

I lived out that way around 80/81 but never knew about that place. I lived between Flagstaff and Sedona but got over to Jerome quite a bit. I know one thing, in the time I lived there I bought four 4wd Chevy trucks, all 65-71s. It was a dream world of rust free trucks. There was the Truck Trader classified full of great older stuff. When I came back I towed one and stashed the other three at a friend's place. Sold one, then a few years later drove my '71 Custom Camper out with my family. My wife drove the camper back and I drove the one truck towing the Blazer. I didn't even live there a whole year. I imagine I'd have my own huge collection had I stayed out there.

Here's another dose of diesel

This isn't from that Daily Diesel Dose guy, but I thought here was a good place to share this
EDIT: 5/30/22 If you see a "video unavailable" message, like I just noticed I had, ignore it and click the title at the top. Doing that plays it on YouTube, not in above box.
