Upper Rear Shock stud loose
1 Attachment(s)
While replacing the shocks we came across where the upper shock mounting stud on driver's side is loose in bracket. I was unable to find anything on a google search or a search of this board.
What am I dealing with, as it is near impossible to get in behind bracket. Was this welded? Is there a fix? I couldn't find this in Assembly Manual, if it is there can someone please let me know page number. Attachment 2125698 |
Re: Upper Rear Shock stud loose
I had the same issue. I pulled the stud tight and then tacked it in place. It was the best I could do.

I had better access, but you could tack it from the front?

Re: Upper Rear Shock stud loose
I ended up replacing the whole bracket by drilling out the rivets

Re: Upper Rear Shock stud loose
I had same issue in both sides. Clean it up and weld it from front side. There’s enough space between stud and bracket to get weld. If you happen to weld to much the stud is long enough to put a flat washer the your shock and still get a nylon lock nut on.
