WTB - Disk brake assembly, 6-lug ralleys

Looking for disk brakes from the knuckle out on a Dana 44 front(trying to save shipping costs). Also could use some 6 lug ralleys any shape except bent. Looking for brake assemblies in the $40 or less range otherwise it would probably be better to source locally because of shipping costs.

Thanks,

Mark

dana 44 ft discs

I may have some 6 lugs coming in. I have 3/4 ton complete front axles now. I'm not sure how far fairborn is. I live about 45 minutes from youngstown. Let me know. Thanks.

Mark540 11-10-2003 06:01 PM

Burnsman,

What ratio is in the 3/4 ton? Disks I assume? Do you have a 3/4 ton rear to match? If so how much? 4 hours from you roughy not too bad.

Mark

REDWHITE402 11-10-2003 06:04 PM

I have a set with caps and rings$200 plus shipping

Mark540 11-10-2003 06:14 PM

Thanks, Redwhite402, I was looking to spend a little less, I was trying to find some inexpensive ones before I opt for some eagle alloys instead.

3/4 ton axles

I have a set of axles (dana 44 ft/dana 60 rear) that came out of a 71 gmc 3/4 ton. The front has discs. $200 for the pair. The gears are 4.10 I think. The rear is an open rear. Let me know. Thanks. Or you can call me at 814-333-2704 if interested. Brian

Mark540 11-10-2003 06:32 PM

Brian, could you verify the ratio and I will do some checking on wheels to fit? I will research tonight, I am definately interested. Thanks, Mark

axles

I will try to verify tonight.

Mark540 11-11-2003 10:03 AM

Brian, do you happen to know what is involved with going from a 1/2 ton axle to a 3/4 ton axle? Just don't want to get over my head here. If it is to involved I can wait for the 1/2 ton fronts you will be getting.

Burnsman 11-11-2003 10:18 AM

differences

Mark, I'm not real sure. I think it is physically a bolt in. The only real difference being the 8-bolt lug pattern vs the 6. But maybe someone on the board will know. There are some pretty smart people on here.

Mark540 11-11-2003 10:40 AM

Thanks, I will pose the question on the message forum.

Burnsman 11-11-2003 10:54 AM

Mark, I have a set of 1/2 tons that I was going to sell to a local, but he backed out of the deal. Front is dana 44 w/ discs, rear is 12 bolt posi. Gear ratio is 3.08. Front axle is missing lockout hubs (I think they are about $100/pr new). $200/pr. I also have a complete 72 1/2 4x4 truck. You could have the whole truck for $500. It's minus motor and bed. TH350 is a year old and it has the NP205 transfer case. The front has discs. The rear is the open style. Gear ratio is also 3.08.

Mark540 11-11-2003 12:27 PM

Brian, OK now you have me interested, problem is room. I could use the trans/transfer combo, column, pedals, brake booster/propotioning valve(disk), front drive shaft, and front axle. I don't have room for a whole truck, and I live in an alotment where restrictions won't let it outside. Would you concider parting the truck using the axles you have unattached and keep the truck rolling if you have the ability to get rid of it?

Burnsman 11-11-2003 12:45 PM

truck/axles

Mark, It's alot more work for me, so it would need to be worth my while. I do have a way to get rid of it. Just to be sure, here is what you want: the 71 axle set (w/posi), the following parts off of the 72 (xfer case/trans, pedals, booster/prop valve, column, ft driveshaft). You may want the ft axle off of the 72, as it still has the hubs and has the same ratio. What were you thinking price-wise? I'd need some form of a deposit (like $100) in a money order. I could have it all rippedoff and ready to go and you would just need to come and get it all. Let me know. Thanks.

Mark540 11-11-2003 01:05 PM

Brian, yeah the more i think of it is alot of work I don't want to put you through. Does the truck have a title?, longbed? Might be able to get it in the garage and rent a car trailer. Maybe I could get the front axle as well(with no hubs) to keep the truck a roller.

Mark, here is a couple of pics of the truck. I am at bottom dollar on both items. $200 for the pair of axles and $500 for the truck. The truck has a good title. Just let me know what you want to do. Thanks.

stelth2002 11-11-2003 03:14 PM

Thats the nicest 500$ truck i have seen in quite a while.

Mark540 11-11-2003 04:02 PM

Well talked to the wife and thought about things over lunch. I really would like the truck but I just don't have room it, so lets get a price on some items and I will send a certified check and pick them up in a couple of weeks(if that will work for you). I want to keep this rolling so you can sell what is left(frame and title have to be worth some pennies). Things I would want: Front driveshaft, front axle-no hubs(71), 350 and TC, brake master cyl and proportioning valve, and possibly the column and pedal assembly. I can help with the removal if need be, what would you want for these things?

Burnsman 11-11-2003 04:55 PM

truck/axles

Mark, I really hate to piece-meal this truck out. I just don't want to get stuck with something I can't sell. If you want, I'd sell you the truck for $500 and I'll strip the transfer case/trans/front axle w/hubs/ft driveshaft, booster/mc/prop valve/column and pedals. I can get rid of the rest. Let me know. If you want the other front axle w/o the hubs, I'd sell it seperately for $60. Let me know. Thanks.

Mark540 11-11-2003 06:56 PM

Brian,

I will talk to the wife again tonight and may just get the whole truck, I will let you know tomorrow. Do you think it can be towed with a tow bar 250 miles or so?

Thanks,

mark

Mark540 11-11-2003 10:26 PM

Brian, talked to the wife, I will take the truck complete. Let me know where to send the deposit. I believe I can make it up next weekend to get it.

Thanks Mark

Burnsman 11-12-2003 09:57 AM

Truck

Mark, the truck should be able to be towed with a tow bar. It rolls freely, nothing is loose. It does have alot of good parts on it. It's got power steering box, sliding rear window, etc. I'll get the title dug out. Send the deposit to Brian Burns, 15827 Bailey Rd, Meadville, Pa. 16335. Thanks. Just let me know when you are coming to get it. You can call me at work til 5 (814)382-8691 x305 or at home 814-333-2704.

Mark540 11-12-2003 04:57 PM

Brian, my wife got a certiied check for a $100 deposit and will mail it today. I am shooting for next Sat morning(22nd) to be up there. Let me know if that will fit you schedule.

Thanks,

Mark
