Project "Sleezy" 72 Highlander
 

Hello my fellow C10'ers! I wanted to share my current project/build. It is definitely not as in depth and awesome as most on here but its what I have to work with!

Some of you guys may remember when I first purchased the truck back in January and posted it here on the forums. She is a beauty in her all original "stock" form but, I just cant leave well enough alone :lol: The truck (as most of you can probably tell) is a 72 C10 Highlander that is well optioned according to the SPID. I purchased the truck from the original family with only 70k original miles. From what I can tell, she is approx. 95% rust free. The rockers, cab corners, floor pan etc. are all pristine.

So with all that being said, here are my plans for the truck. I decided to go with my better judgment, along with the feedback from you guys here on the forum, and only stick with bolt ons and items that can be reversed back to stock if need be. I may still catch some slack from some of you "Die Hard" original classic truck guys out there, but there is just something about an original patina'd truck that's lowered on some nice wheels. However, she is too pretty and original to hack up beyond repair. I have been accumulating parts since I purchased the truck back in January so I have amassed quite an inventory of goodies. Here's what I have so far:

-CPP Modular Grand Slam kit 3/4 drop
-CPP Front and Rear disc brakes with drilled and slotted rotors
-Detroit Steel Wheel Co. 20" Smoothies
-Yokohama tires
-Oem replacement upper and lower control arms

That's about it for parts at the moment. I'm sure there are a few parts that I am forgetting. I have already started the process of removing the original steering, suspension, and brakes. All of this has been completed as of 1-2 months ago when I got lazy while waiting for parts (could have used my spare time elsewhere on the truck). :waah: So, enough typing and more showing pics...

I think the truck looks great. Very solid foundation you got. Don't get discouraged by lack of views. Keep plugging away. Trevor

Thanks guys! I am fortunate that it is mostly rust free and everything came apart really well. Now im just trying to get motivated and put everything back together lol.

Made a little progress this evening. Removed the rear diff and trailing arms for cleaning and painting.

Man id love to have a short bed in this exact color combo/patina. Short beds are starting to become a quite pricey these days though :(

I hope to get it on the road later this year. I have had it for 20 years and last drove it in 99 I think. The body is in excellent condition.

Dude I love it! Send it on up to SC so I can have a matching short bed for my long bed! lol
