Single Window Door Weatherstrip

Hey all.

I did a single window conversion in my 58 and the main channel that the window runs in works great (now that I eurothan'd it in it stops sliding).

My question is regarding the inner and outer weather strip that runs along the bottom of the window where it meets the horizontal part of the door frame.

WHAT IS EVERYONE USING.... do you have pics?

My problem is that the window curves up at either end so you cant just run a straight weatherstrip like I have. (pics 1-2 below)

When you look at the factory stripping it curves up as part of the steel frame to account for that but its now to short with the quarter glass removed. (pic 3)

So I cut some slots in my channel that I have to bend it to match and tried installing it (pics 4-5).

It kind of works but as the cut section isnt supported in anyway to the frame its just going to bend and flex and twist each time the window is wound up or down.

Also how did you attach the stripping to the frame. I was contemplating getting some more door channel clips and eurothaning them on then slotting into the factory holes.

Have I made this too hard a project?
Should I have just run the chanel straight, does anyone have pics of this?
If so, how did you fill the hole in the bend if you did it that way?

Cheers

Re: Single Window Door Weatherstrip

I bought the 1 piece window kit from brothers, they may sell the whiskers(sp) separately. They sent microscopic screws that wouldn't go in, I used 3M double sided tape. That was 13 years ago, unless they popped off this winter.
I'm traveling and don't have pics, look at my build thread
