94 - up s 10 parts interchange ?

ok i have a 94-up body style s 10 that was involved in a pretty good accident and the owner gave it to me to pay for his tow . It has a aftermarket throtle body on it and the truck is a 4.3 . I have a 2004 chevy s 10 crew cab that is my daily driver and it has some work done to it . I want to know if the throtle body from the 94 -up s10 will work on my 2004 ? I know some stuff interchanges but i am not shure on this . both trucks have vortec 4.3 motors in them

Re: 94 - up s 10 parts interchange ?

keep in mind the 94 and older CPI (aluminum upper intake) engines were called vortec as well. in 95 they went to the CSPI (plastic upper) which has a different throttle body.
the CSPI throttle body should work on the 04 as they are the same engine. FWIW a 5.0 and 5.7 take the same as well.
while you're at it cut off the baffle, big difference in response.

You say 94-up truck, but what year is it exactly? I think 96 was the first year 4.3 Vortech. I was told 95 was the last year for TBI & in 96 went to the OBD II with the plastic upper intake. Im sure Todd (68C15) knows better than I do, he does this stuff everyday at work...
