Advice on Hoses/plugs after heater delete.

Hey all,
Working with 72 C10, V8 350. Removed the heater/Blower and all hoses, no AC here. Wondering if you all would be so kind as to look at how I have the holes plugged and stuff to make sure this setup will not be any issue with overheating, etc. Basically I just capped at the water pump and top of manifold, both circled in pics. So I just have one hose to manifold and one to water pump. Would it be better to just run a small hose to the two circled ports? Thank you in advance.

No need for a bypass hose.
Water pump already has a bypass in it.

True--unless you want to burp the air out of it faster. I would remove the rubber cap and hose clamp and put a plug in there

Thank you. Ya I wanted to put a pipe plug in, tried to remove the fitting that the rubber boot is on now, and it was not budging at all. Couldn’t think of any other option.

A bypass hose wouldn't hurt anything and it would help prevent hot spots in the heads.

Like geezer#99 said no need for bypass, I ran my last engine like that for years.
kwmech has good advice to get rid of the rubber cap, they tend to crack and leak very quickly. If you can heat that fitting just enough to break it loose, a plug will look better and last longer, it’s worth it for the peace of mind.

If concerned about burping the air out just drill an 1/8 inch hole in the thermostat.

I really like these. They look good and I like the almost flush way the plugs present themselves. Hydraulic shops and Fastenal typically have them.
Even Amazon has them. In black if you prefer. The fasteners are the finishing touches. In my book they are very important.

Those plugs are my preferred method because they are aluminum so you don't have to worry about galvanic corrosion. Brass & Steel plugs cause corrosion and pitting around the threads. They look better too.

I agree with the others on this thread. Put aluminum plugs in as at some point the rubber plug will begin to leak.
