Tilt Steering to a NON tilt
So, here's the situation I'm in, my current tilt has.. a lot of play.. maybe an inch and half, i know you can tighten up the 3 toques, but, my ignition is also all ****ed, which could also be fixed. But my wheel doesn't lock any more, that mechanism is broke, the linkage that runs to the wiper switch is broke and some other spring in side right their. I can buy a rebuilt one for $520 on eBay, with a 1 year warranty, or do i just go to a non tilt? and what would that consist of? I keep my wheel all the way up as it is.

swapping the columns is no big deal its like four bolts underneath the dash seven or eight on the fire wall and separating the upper and lower shafts, shift linkage and a couple of plugs. the thing you have to remember tho is that you need to get the correct column for the swap. make sure that its the same configuration with the wiring and that its the same kind of connection between the upper and lower shaft.. Good source for rebuilt steering columns. Wayne is a good guy, too.
