standard / stock tires for C10 from 1970?

Hello!

I´m absolutly new here and I just hope it´s right to post this thread here?

I´m from Germany and I just bought my first truck now. For the German registration I do need the original tires/wheels on my car (or close too).

I got different information about the sizes which have been original for this car.

I think for you it is an easy (and may be stupid question), but where I live such a car is an exote and not many people have knowledge about this

Can somebody help, please?

many thanks!

Stephan

First off, Welcome to the board. I spent some time in your country courtesy of my Uncle Sam in early 1968 to mid 1969. He then sent me on an all expenses paid vacation to sunny SE Asia, also known as Viet Nam. Much preferred your beautiful countryside. :chevy:

As for your question, my original owner's manual for my '71 1/2 ton shows tire size as a H78/15 which converts to a 225/75/15 metric size. Should be the same for a 1970 model, hope that helps

Mans thanks for the nice wecome words and big help! Even if it will not be easy to have this car Running Herr in Germany I'm sure that it was the right decision to change to this car now :-)

Stephan72, Sorry, just realized I typed the wrong truck date in my reply. Typed in 1979 when I should have typed in 1970 for the truck tire size being the same. Hope it did not confuse you. Fingers don't always co-operate on the key board.

Where is Flensburg, Germany in realtion to Frankfurt? I was stationed in Buedingen, about 23 kilometers North East of Frankfurt. Spent of LOT of time in Grafenwher, Hoenfels, Vielsek and Tiergarten training with the 3rd Armored Division. You have some REAL COLD winters in Germany, LOL.
