Impala SS/Caprice rear disc brake BRACKETS

2 Attachment(s)
I have another dozen sets of brackets cut and ready to ship!

These brackets bolt on to the axle flange of a truck 12-bolt rear end, and allow you to install the Impala SS or Caprice rear disc brake calipers to your truck. You simply use the Impala SS or Caprice calipers, OEM bracket, and rotors (they are already 5 on 5!), and some minor tweaking to the brake lines, swap the proportioning valve, and there you have it.... rear disc brakes!!

I will also include a list of parts necessary to complete the swap, along with part numbers to the places that have the best prices.

EDIT: I will also have brake line adapters available by next week. They adapt the truck's 3/16" brake line fitting to the 10mm metric thread on the new caliper/hose. They will probably be around $3 or $4 each, but will know for sure after they are here.

Brackets are $50 a set plus shipping, and include mounting hardware to bolt the brackets to the axle flange, and hardware to bolt the OEM bracket to these. I perfer Paypal, and can be sent to glock35ipsc@aim.com.

If you want to use a money order, PM me for a mailing address.

Thanks!!

Oops, forgot to mention that part. I edited my post to fix that!

I prefer Paypal, and the address is in the first post now.

Thanks!

What OEM bracket are you talking about? Not sure I know what that part is.

Sign me up for a set.

Photo below. It bolts to my bracket, and the caliper attaches to it.

Do you list the proportioning valve part # also?

A bit off topic, but related: what is the diameter and thickness of the impala rotor.

Re: Impala SS/Caprice rear disc brake BRACKETS

I do. I list the one that Classic Performance sells (disc/disc).

11 39/64" thick, and unfortunately I cannot answer the thickness question at the moment. I will find out and get back to you.

OK, i think I may go this route. One more noob question; When I go in the parts store to buy the rotors and calipers, do I need to bring in cores?

glock35ipsc 01-10-2007 11:56 AM

Re: Impala SS/Caprice rear disc brake BRACKETS

Rotors, no. Calipers, you will need to have them to avoid a core charge. If you don't have them, you will likely pay the core charge. Maybe see if you can find some on eBay or at a bone yard to use as cores.

Will teses fit a passenger car flange? If not, do you make a different bracket?

glock35ipsc 01-10-2007 12:41 PM

Re: Impala SS/Caprice rear disc brake BRACKETS

No, the flange is different. These are the only ones I am making at the moment, Impala/Caprice on a 12 bolt truck. I will be working on some for a Camaro caliper/12 bolt truck shortly.

I got the brackets yesterday and got them powder coated. Those are some quality pieces. Thanks for making this swap a little easier.

I will try and get some tomorrow. I repowdered my calipers black also, I just didn't like the chrome on them.

Re: Impala SS/Caprice rear disc brake BRACKETS

Would these work with 15" Ralley wheels?? Or are larger diameter rims needed???

glock35ipsc 01-10-2007 02:58 PM

Re: Impala SS/Caprice rear disc brake BRACKETS

They will clear the rallys. Powell72 confirmed this.

Okay, I'm interested. Is the $8 shipping for everybody? I'll get a paypal on it's way to you as soon as I hear the word.

Thanks!

It is based off of location. For West Chester, Ohio shipping would be $9.00, for a total of $59.00.

Thanks!
