1971 C20 Static drop.

Looking to drop my 71 c20 but i'm having a hard time finding the parts i need.. I DON'T WANT TO DO A C10 AXLE SWAP! I want to have a dropped 3/4 ton long bed for a bike hauler.

So far I found These for the spindles.

Springs

Can't find a flip kit for the rear! also don't know how legit the drop spindles or the springs are... ANY help would be rad!

Performance Online also carries C20 drop parts for the 67-72 trucks.

POL sells the front spindles and cut one (or one and a half coils). 14bolt? They dont make flip kits for that. You need to buy new perches and weld them on.

Hate to bring up an old post but was wondering if spindles from a 1987 c3500 would work on a 1971 C20 suburban?

They are from early classics. It's the c20 to c10 conversion drop spindle. 2-1/2 drop. Check out there site but I believe it runs standard c10 brakes. Bought my truck with them on and when I went to swap to tubular control arms that's when I found out I have all 3/4 ton suspension. I ended up buying drop 1/2 ton spindles to run the tubular arms.

100 bucks plus the ride and there yours

The only thing I'm not sure is the brakes. I have 6 lug so that's why I thought I had 1/2 ton stuff up there. Not sure if you can run the 3/4 ton brakes

If you were closer id take you up on it. I am in Illinois plus dont know if they would work with my current brake set up ( OEM 8 lug disc brake)

I'm sure the C20 to C10 conversion uses C10 discs, I'm sure I got mine on eBay for around $200.

Ratty65, for some reason my 71 had newer stock spindles on it so when I installed the 71 c20 drop spindles the rotors fit bit the calipers wouldn't fit. So if you change to the newer c20 drop spindles you have to change all the front brake parts too.

Thanks, is your 72 static or bagged? It looks low. I've got to do a cam change on mine(bad lobe) but hope to be back on the road by the end of the month. What's the location for the cruise night & is it every week?

The 72 is bagged but want to go lower with spindles and a cnotch in the back. The cruise in is the second wednesday of every month and gets quoite a turnout.

Maybe I'll come up tonight to check out your suburban. Yep not to many C20s especially lowered ones. I want to bag & notch mine this summer along with an overdrive trans.
