Doors seals

Spent the day put in classic parts cheap door seals and Im not happy with them. Doors no longer close and my fingers hurt like hell pushing in those pins. The gasket got distorted from the pins and a lot didnt line up so I had to use weatherstrip adhesive. All in all not something I want to look at everyday. I just ordered soffseals and I'm going to try them. I'm going to cut off most of the pins and use 3M VHB double sided tape this time like the AD trucks had. Has anyone tried this?

IDK, i used the push pins and 14 yrs and 36000 miles later, all weather seals are still there. i'd reconsider as the pins really work well. if you patched the doors a lot and didn't line up the holes, that may be the issue. try the softseal weather stripping as is before you modify it.

You are on the right track by going with SoffSeal, I would not use any other brand.

I agree with Ogre, keep the pins, they do work well. I have had good results with chasing out the holes with a drill bit. If I remember correct, it should be 3/16ths but you can confirm that by drilling a hole in some scrap material for a test.

Just put the soffseals in. Like night and day. They went in easy with no mess.
