'75 in Funky Color
 

I purchased this '75 in Idaho at the beginning of the year and the shipper showed up with it last night. A few small rust issues in rockers (won't need full replacement), runs like crap, and it's very filthy inside, outside, and underneath. All fairly typical for the junk I usually buy. Will probably get it running right and park it until I can get around to going over it mechanically. Maybe later this year.
The color is pretty uncommon (probably for good reason), but I like it. It's called "willoway green" on the SPID.

Thanks guys. I changed the plugs and wires today and it's running on all 8 now so happy the motor is salvageable. Once the snow melts I'll put it on the trailer and power wash the undercarriage before it gets parked out in the storage barn.

Very cool! I damn near bought that blazer last fall. Reality told me I had place to put it and all the neighbors would be more pissed than they already are.
I'm glad somebody on here ended up with it. Keep us posted.

Yeah, I've had a lot of squares over the years and I think this is only the second one I've had with painted mirrors. The first one was a truck I scrapped and one of its mirrors ended up in your neck of the woods :)

The guy selling it was real close to being non-responsive enough to make me give up on trying to buy it.

Anyways, I'm glad to have it and look forward to getting it cleaned up and running right. You are so right though about pissing off the neighbors as this thing is such a weird color that it really sticks out. I can't imagine it sitting outside.

Dangit!!! I also tried to buy it! Never could get in touch with him! I agree it just looked dirty ! I was going to paint inside the chrome white n a small lift...Congrats on the score!

Seems like I was lucky that he answered his phone when I called him.
I gave the blazer a good look over the weekend. It has what appears to be an early TBI engine based on the valve covers but I won't be able to confirm until I get a look at the numbers on the block. It seems to be running well considering that the quadrajet is leaking quite a bit around the accelerator pump rod.
The interior is pretty rough. Needs new seat covers, interior panels, dash has a few cracks, carpet is shot, sticky steering wheel, etc.
The exterior needs a few small areas of rust fixed and a major cleaning. Door hing pins need replacing. For what appears to be a Blazer used on a farm it is surprisingly straight though. No major body damage at all.
Plan is a small lift and 33's. Top needs to go, and another roll bar needs to be added behind rear seats to allow for use at dunes.
I have about 15 old vehicles and for some reason this one quickly became one of my 14 year old daughter's favorites. She loves the color.

A true diamond in the rough! I had suspicions on the interior....not sure how hard the green will be to match up? Keep us posted on the progress!

It's kind of funny about the green because I happen to have some green door panels of this vintage.
I was going to put this on the back burner for a while and finish up some other projects but with my daughter's prodding I may pull it ahead.
Since I'll be pulling the fiberglass top off of this I will now have two of these full tops (I have a '73 too) that I'll have to store. I'm thinking about chopping the front of this top off about 6 inches behind where it bolts up to the windshield frame in order to use it to attach soft to snaps. I'm just a little leery of killing a hard top even if this one needs a little work.

I once bought some parts from a guy with a '76 the same color. It had a green interior too.

Please don't cut up the top.

I just don't know what to do with it. I'm already storing tops from a '72, '73 and a '79. This would be the second one from a '73-'75 that at this point in my life I never see putting back on. I hate to ruin useable parts but the issue is being in the rust belt the full top Blazers are pretty rare so me finding someone in a reasonable driving distance that needs this is probably unlikely.
You have me thinking though....I'll list it on here and CL before I'll do anything drastic.
FWIW I don't want this turning into an "I want the top" thread.

Kinda random but I wanna say I have seen this color or a similar color used by the forest service or border patrol or another law enforcement group. Might be wrong but either way it is a cool Blazer.

I did that with a wrecked top I found. i can botl ti to teh windsheiled and will make a bikini style top that goes back to the roll bat with it.
