Newbie from STL Missouri 1986 K1500 Suburban
Just picked up this 1986 k1500 GMC Suburban a few weeks ago. My wife finally ok'd a project for me the only catch was it has to fit our entire family of 5 in it. So I got this beast for $1500.00. Runs great and starts after two trys in the cold. There are some rough attempts at bodywork on this thing. It might be cheaper to buy another suburban to cut up or something not sure yet...I also moved last week so I have been pretty busy, but when my wife OKs a project I have to jump on it ;;; :)
Had new: distrubutor battery calibers pads hubs valve cover gaskets Had to fix: $2.00 filler vent hose $8.00 blower resistor switch (it was cold because of winter) $13.00 blower motor (again it was cold because of winter) $7.00 head light (to pass inspection) $30.00 driver side window regulator (to pass inspection) The guy also gave just about every bearing and gasket for the truck brand new in the boxes. Next plan for the future is to replace the fuel sending unit or gauge because the truck is showing a 1/4 or a tank even when full. http://i109.photobucket.com/albums/n...n/IMG_3341.jpg http://i109.photobucket.com/albums/n...n/IMG_3342.jpg http://i109.photobucket.com/albums/n...n/IMG_3348.jpg http://i109.photobucket.com/albums/n...n/IMG_3393.jpg http://i109.photobucket.com/albums/n...n/IMG_3344.jpg |
