Need help with Z-ing!
 

My setup as of now is a front 2.5 Z, and a 255/35/20, but the back is setup for a 22in wheel. It's like 27in tall now, and ill be a 22 with a 35 series. I'm all stock with this tire and we are 2in from laying. I guess spindles are the easy fix? The backs 4-linked, back halfed on a 12in. Were trying to make a show but not when it can't lay out. I've searched but I need what's right for this setup.

A 2.5 Z on front and a 27in tall tire is still 2in from laying. If get 2in spindles it will lay but when I go over 31in tire on a 22in wheel, I'm back where I started, not laying out in front. How can I lay out??

You'll need more of a frame 'Z'.

We read up and it's already plated in, Z's done! I may go 20/22 combo, I don't want my engine any further up. I may do a 2in spindle and be done.

Thanks guys, but it's laying. I got my extra 2in without spindles or redoing the Z. I can't do a 6in Z like some guys on here, just looks a little off.

Sorry I confused you but I needed a small 2inches and I can get it but when I run a taller wheel/tire combo , if the spindles and Z are done then what can I do, but we fixed it.

We cut behind the lower balljoint and moved it up, thus giving us enough to lay out. Now, I just need spindles to lay on 22's.



Thanks guys but a extra 2in Z, making it 4.5 total is way outta the question.

So you stepped the lower a-arm. How much did you raise the BJ?

Yes, I stepped the lower A-arm. I'm not the guy doing it, he stayed up late last night working on the A-arm. It's laying flat now. It's the Dom bags, they are big!

So if you went w/a 3" spindle, you would have only been .500" from what you now have w/a 2" spindle + the 1.5" mod?

But, I don't want a half inch, I want flat!! To me, and him, flat out is good, everything else is not good enough. I want to BD, on 22's and all that hard work for a half inch is just plain stupid!

Exactly, all that work on the a-arms for only .500" more IS pretty stupid (your words not mine).

Had your fab guy done a better job measuring while doing the Z, he wouldn't have had to do all that extra work to the a-arms. :lol:

Well, Shane, I sure the hell am glad I don't know how to weld if my life depended on it! Because I'd be doing all the wrong type work to lay frame. I SURE as [potty mouth]know better than a [potty mouth]6in Z like some guys on here do. I'm not laying on 32's. So, he's wrong for wanting to lay this thing more than half inch from the ground. It will lay flat on the ground when it leaves, so I could give a [potty mouth]about the extra work he does. I try and use this site but why all the negative talk? If it's done 2.5 like most people here seem to do, don't tell us to redo everything, try and help from where we are. I gave him the ok to cut whatever, so long at it lays I'm happy. I'm just trying to learn other ways.

Its only your money for him to go in and cut more because the first cuts weren't deep enough to make it lay. I think everyone's saying you should have done this research beforehand, and more clear questions always help when you want things answered. Rather than the frantic after the fact its not laying low enough what do I do now type of a deal.
