Aluminum wheel cleaner for engine block&heads

Is there anything to spray on late model aluminum engines that have that white powder look?, Would wheel cleaner work and then a spray of lube?

I use Meguiar's G14324 Hot Rims Aluminum Wheel Cleaner. I order it from Amazon.

Any uncoated aluminum cleaner should work quite well.

I can't recommend this stuff enough for use on bare cast aluminum. Amongst my car buddies, we like to call it "magic juice" and we use it on everything from aluminum heads, blocks, intakes, timing covers and anything else that needs a good scrubbing. Spray it on and let it sit for a few minutes then scrub with a brass brush or red scotchbrite pad. It is acidic so latex gloves are a plus.

O'Reilly's and Advance Auto carries it in my neck of the woods for about $7 a spray bottle.

Funny thing is I've never tried it on a set of wheels. :D

How does it react with painted parts like engine blocks? I'd like to try this on my intake.

I assume it would be fine if you spray carefully and wash it out liberally

Thanks. I'd like to clean up the intake, but don't want to destroy my block paint in the process.

I think it'll be fine as long as you rinse it off quickly.

I agree but would be cautious to not spray it directly on painted parts. try it on the aluminum parts only.
