1990 TBI no fuel and No fire

Hi all,

I ran my 90 burb 350 TBI R1500 about a month ago. No issues. Today went to fire her up and she cranks and cranks and cranks.

Added a couple of gallons of fuel of fuel since she was tilting and the tank read empty. Nothing.

I can hear the pump prime and the relay click.

took off the filter and looking at the injectors, I can see they're not firing :(

Ok. so I sprayed some starting fuel and nothing.

so I pulled the #1 plug and grounded it and NOTHING???

I'm guessing it's the distributor.

Thoughts? recommendations?

Probably the ignition module or the interior trigger. Without spark the injectors will not pulse

Bingo! Tested the module and it failed. Any good brands out there anymore or is everything from chindia?

Not sure anymore. I'll tell you though. I had a problem a few years back when you could by a genuine GM module. I had an issue but I did have an extra that I swapped out to get down the road again. When I was able to swap to an OE module I swear the tone of the exhaust was different. Weird huh? I ran that module until I sold the vehicle. Now I'm starting over with a 91 that I'm just about to wrap up after a 2 year hiatus of being off the road. So to answer your question, I don't know anymore as I've seen Genuine GM parts in a red-white-blue box that says made in China

Yeah. I hear you. The last one I bought was a delphi DS10059. probably back in 2018 or so.

I'm looking at a new one and they look completely different.

As for the GM Original, I know that GM does not make everything. Think Tires, bolts, nuts... So Im wondering who makes the GM original and if they are still made the original way.

Also there are 2 part numbers to it. D1984A HEI version and D1943A NON HEI.

Any idea what the correct part number should be? It's all factory original...

I have no idea which part number would be correct. Far as I know Delphi made the GM electronic stuff which I think GM totally screwed over, along with a lot of vendors when they filed BK and told everybody to pound sand. Broke the whole after market chain of available parts also

D1943A is the correct one for a 1990. GM part number is 19179578. Hope that helps
