Holley retrobright 5700K headlight

Yes headlight as in one. I made a mistake and assumed $199 was the price for two. But no that was the price each. Since I already had one I ordered another couple of months ago and it is still on back order. I posted this in the other LED headlight thread but I thought more people may see it like this.

Some pictures of my one Holley retro bright light. It is the 5700 K version. Here it is. It does have DOT SAE HR LED VOL printed on the bottom of the bulb. I did order another one but as usual it is backordered.

I will try to get a comparison shot between the halogen and the Holley LED at night.

$400 dollars for headlights? Ouch - that's like parts prices on new vehicles. Hopefully they turn out be be just exactly what you were looking for.

Don’t forget I’m an idiot, I thought I was getting two for $199. Once I realized my mistake I couldn’t just drive around with one. It’s not the first time I’ve wasted money due to my stupidity.

At 60 years old my eyes are not what they used to be. I don’t like driving at night but if I can add Visibility and make myself more comfortable driving without blinding other drivers it won’t be a total mistake.

I have been wondering about these headlights also and waiting for someone here to get them. Is the one powered up and working? How is the brightness?

You could have done the Tucker thing and put it in the center of the grille...

$400 doesn’t seem too bad, it seems like a high quality product. Looks very bright and is MUCH better looking than all of the other led options. They have a nice clean classic look. I think the leds with the octagon, halo or split bar look like cheap import tuner junk and don’t belong on our trucks.

Cool they look original. Personally I don’t like the odd look of most of those LED headlamps.

100% agree with this. It looks like they are worth it to me.

It’s a good thing you only got one for now, how else could you have done the comparison. It’s tough buying headlights, there is a lot of junk out there. I think I’ll get a pair for my build. Thanks.

If you can post a video of those while driving your truck. Those are real expensive If you have a gmc ( you need 4 bulbs at that cost) but I'm considering them if the 5700k is worth the moola.

When I get the other one in and I drive the truck which might not be for a month or two I will be happy to try to post a video or at least some pictures on the roadway. I’m working on lots of little electrical projects and I’m not driving the blazer at the moment. And I only have the one bulb because I stated earlier I was dumb.

Re: Holley retrobright 5700K headlight

IMO, why that light is worth the $200, is it locks like a stock headlight. You have $400 in high quality lights that look like they are $40.

You can put in a $100 headlight that looks aftermarket and it can be stolen easily by somebody in two minutes since it looks like a $100 headlight and then your out of $200 and probably need a tow home if they are stolen when you are out on the town at night.

You will not regret having those headlights in your truck. If u haven't already do the relay upgrade thing for your headlights and they'll be as bright as most modern cars and trucks.

Re: Holley retrobright 5700K headlight

I'd love to get a set for my truck, but I'm not ready to spend $400 on headlights! I'm hoping they become so popular that the price can come down some, but that might just be wishful thinking.

If you have a GMC or 60-61 Chevy, you can get clear lens for the outer bulbs and yellow lens for the inners

I’ve had a lot going on in my life lately. So I haven’t had a chance to test out the new Holley retro bright LED headlights. I did a little bit of adjusting and I still need to fine-tune it. But here are a few pictures I took tonight.

Those are really bright. My only concern would be that blacked-out UFO hovering 5 feet over the surface of the road. That is a really sharp cutoff.

Not really sure what that UFO thing was. Probably a reflection from the windshield or something. I just wanted to show how dark it was before I turn the lights on. I’m impressed with the cut off and the brightness.

Re: Holley retrobright 5700K headlight

Those are nice, I think you will be happy with them.

I like to look on the bright side, pun intended: at least you have a Chevy and not a GMC or it'd cost you twice as much.

Re: Holley retrobright 5700K headlight

Modern hard horizon line LED bulb at 5700k. Like a modern car has

These LED should draw less than the 40-60watt standard or Halogen lamps. I would suspect, just like conventional or Halogen lamps, using a headlight relay harness would still allow these LED lamps to be a bright as they can.

The headlight harness significantly improves regular & Halogen headlight brightness along with all other interior/exterior lights because the "load" (watts) is no longer going through the headlight switch itself.

Yeah the $400 to $800 cost for the LED is considerably more than conventional/Halogen but the Hollys produce a modern, rigid horizon (read less glare to oncoming traffic) bright white (5700k vs 3200k) headlight. Would you spend that kind of $ on improved brakes???...I think we have the same answer.

The poor mans version is the headlight harness and the Sylvania Silverstar 5700k which is a "bright white" headlight but not with the optics the Holly LED has

Look up RMS Lighting, https://rmslighting.net/ Hector Vega
great product looks stock-Led, direct bolt in.
about half the cost of the holley.

Those lights are very impressive, worth every penny in my opinion. And NO, you are NOT dumb! Thanks for the information!

The holly’s look like regular headlamps also unlike many of the aftermarket LED headlamps. Holley also has a replaceable bulb assembly. I have two 1972 Blazer‘s and bought four of the Holley bulbs. If you’re happy with your Hector Vega product let’s see your thread on them. I’m sure many people would like other options if they look and perform well.
