Amp location
Anybody mount an amp in the center console, would it have enough circulation. I have a sub amp located under the passenger seat and looking for a location for a four channel amp for the front and rear speakers. Did a mock up under the drivers seat and it was a no go. I'm 6'3 so raising the drivers seat is not an option. 4 Channel to passenger and relocate sub amp? Sub is behind rear seat in a custom box. Any Ideas?

My amp and SUB are in here !
If you're using a Softopper or no top, dont even waste your time putting in a stereo unless you want to listen to tunes while parked. Too noisy when driving. |

I have 2 amps under rear seat, but they're small-ish in size, one for the speakers and one for the subs. FWIW, I can hear mine great going down the road with no top.

Re: Amp location
Ended up with 4 channel under the passenger seat and sub amp under the rear seat

Re: Amp location
My amp is under the driver seat...but I had to modify the slider brackets so it would fit
Didn't want it under the passenger seat..exposed every time the seat was tilted forward. I also made some shims from black plastic to raise the rear seat enough to put the sub under it. |

Re: Amp location
I have a 5 channel amp under the rear seat. It drives a single 12" in a box behind the back seat, a pair of 6 1/2" speakers in the side panels right behind the front seats and a pair of 4"s in the door panels. 50x4 and 150x1 if I remember correctly.
I have NO problems hearing my tunes with the windows zipped out of my SpecialtyTopCo soft top. |
