Re: T-Man's 58 Apache project

Tyler58 nice build.. the truck looks great. I recently bought a 58 fleetside bed that is a long wheelbase. I want to cut it down to a short bed. How much did you cut out of your bed? What did you use for patch panels? How did you modify the front of the bed to match the cab? Thank You for the help

Re: T-Man's 58 Apache project

Hey guys, just thought i would give a bit of a update, there has been no progress lately, summer and all. But I will be taking the truck to my shop in the city in about a month or so, get the bodywork done, primed and painted. Goal is to have it done for spring. So we will see how we do. Wish us luck.

Re: T-Man's 58 Apache project

T-Man: Well done on the gas door. I was wondering how I was going to tackle that detail. My trailblazer filler neck is in that vicinity on the driver side and is flexible. Also, love the light switch detail. The light module that came with my Trailblazer donors incudes a few more switches. I plan on working it into or below the dash in a similar fashion. Keep up the good work. dug

Thanks guys! Well all three of us are working on the truck, Don (tyler's dad) is at the farm working on the frame and such and then me and Tyler are here in the city trying to get the bodywork done. Hope all goes well. Here is some more progress pics. I got the mud work all completed on the outside of the cab now. still have the jambs and windsheild area to finish yet. and then gap the doors a bit more and do them.

Hi Tyler and James the cab is looking good. I got another job done, it was the one that I was not looking forward to (battery box). I came up with this

Well got a little more done last night. Tyler is still sanding all the jambs and areas and I got the front windshield area a out 2/3 done mudding. It was rusted out and we had to previously fix it. So it is getting there. O. Another note I just want to say a happy belated birthday to Tyler's dad. Don, happy birthday.
