Oh look, another LS'd '69 Truck

Hi Everyone...
It's been quite some time since I have posted or even been on the board. Shame, shame... but a build that took a few more nickels and one or two minutes longer sort of took over my time.

Behold... another totally original LS-swap.

Let's just lay it out there:
  • 2001 6.0L LS motor
  • Mild rebuild, punched over a weeeeeee-bit
  • CBM 450-12 cam
  • CBM Blue / Red ECU (engine & trans) & calibration
  • Modified truck intake manifold
  • Oompa Loompa Orange Paint
  • Aluminum radiator and dual electric fans
  • Very stock 4L80E
  • GM Truck 12 bolt with 3.73 limited slip gears
  • Rear Disc brakes (fronts were already done)
  • Shortened drive shaft
  • Body, chop, and drop were done before I got the truck

Future Updates:
  • Dakota digital dash
  • Hotchkis Sway bar(s)
  • Teaching wife to drive it

The build itself is nothing too crazy or any different than what you've probably seen about 46 other times...

It's a good cruiser though. Always starts and drives ...like a big couch (a bit too plush really). Burns the tires at will with reckless abandonment.

Anyway... Enjoy! Comments and questions are welcome.

It's not perfect, but it sure beats the very tired 350 / 350 Turbo that was in it... I hate carbs and trying to set them! Screw that... I'm such a diva.

nice lookin truck! Does the factory AC work with the new engine? And what setup are you using for the brake booster?

Hi Gainsb, I broke the rules and used the '69 stock AC system and the '01 factory compressor (all at R-134A). The system had been converted over before I got the truck. I realize the compressor should have a pressure switch, etc, etc... but... ehh... I too like to live dangerously. :metal:

Brake booster is a hydra-static unit off the '01 2500HD donor truck. Plenty of braking power.

I can dig it. If I had the cash I would do an LS swap 7 days a week. I'm not much for flames but those subtle ghost flames in the red look pretty nice.
