LC-8 Motor ?? ( LS)

Looking at a zero mile LC8 engine - it has no wire harness, ecm, throttle pedal ect….

What controller and wire harness, pedal will work, probably a dumb question but this is my first LS swap

Stock the engine made roughly 350 HP and 375 FTLB - what can be expected with a tuned ecm, headers, ect.

Looking to put a 6L80e behind the motor

8'' lift with 35- 37'' tires - 4.56 gears

Toughts? Concerns

Re: LC-8 Motor ?? ( LS)

You know that is a CNG engine, right?

Re: LC-8 Motor ?? ( LS)

My understanding is that the engine can be configured to run on CNG, LP or Unleaded Gas. Since the motor is a crate with no wiring ( just intake to pan) figured a standalone wire harness will solve the issues and will be able to run on gas just like any other LS. I am not pulling this out of another vehicle - individual has it as a new crate engine

Someone PLEASE correct me if Im wrong

When I looked up LC8, the 1st thing I saw was "unique"...to me that means hard to find so ething that works...it does say it's the only LS engine that runs on both gas and LP

Copied this...
(It is unique among the Gen. 3 and Gen. 4 engines in that it’s the only one designed to operate on gasoline and LPG or CNG fuels.)

For my money I'd stick to a basic LS engine and not get caught up in "unique"

I would check with the harness builders. It might have some unique sensors and plugs and well as injectors. Or maybe you could swap them out. I suspect the internals will be nothing different? Might take some research but I’m sure it’s not insurmountable.

According to this it sounds like a great motor.

I only looked at psi...but when I entered LC8, it came back no results

As I understand these engines will run gasoline, CNG or LPG....

They are not configured to run on E-85...

A couple of articles on these links will give you the details...

https://www.onallcylinders.com/2019/...am-specs-more/

https://www.onallcylinders.com/2019/...e-performance/

I believe these engines do not use AFM but do have VVT as standard....

Hope this helps

Found this above showing a factory harness and it lumps LC8 with the L96 6.0.

Re: LC-8 Motor ?? ( LS)

thinking of switching gears since my PSI harness will not support the LC8 - at least the technician that I talked to.

Now switching gears and thinking about one of the two below

BLUEPRINT Engines - 376ci LS, fully dressed with accessories or their 408ci LS, was going to start a new thread on opinions or experience with BLUEPRINT - they seem very reputable

If you have the money then a complete turn key engine is nice. I haven't heard as much about the Blueprint LS engines (see a lot more of typical SBC stuff with them).

It's more work but I'd probably go to a junkyard and pull an LS. Around here you can get a 5.3 with a year warranty for $220. If you take your time you can get the wiring harness/exhaust manifolds/intake/starter and they usually don't charge you extra as long as its all bolted to the engine

Thompson or Texas Speed is who I would go with if I had the money and I was shooting for big numbers but they don't usually include the front accessories.
