High Beam/Trans Neutral?

1 Attachment(s)
Gentlemen- I have spent a week examining my ‘80 C20 350/350 wiring manual with no avail. In short, can anyone assist in identifying this LT GRN wire. Best I can tell it is for either BU lights, Hi beams or trans neutral switch. However, my BU lights are working. The wire originates from a grommet in the firewall behind the instrument panel. It seems unusually long. I am severely colorblind and this has been a challenge…
Thank You, Single Action Army

Does your parking brake have a switch on it?

It could be the parking brake indicator light.

Thank you Getter. It does, but wiring schematic shows BLK/LT BLU and GRAY to Park SW.

Looks like an added wire long ago from a previous owner

Green is often used for:
Temp Gauge/Idiot sender
AC clutch

Possible a PO ran a new wire while trying to figure out why the temp gauge never moved. Often happened if the OEM sender was replaced.

Best thing to do is start tracing it back, where does it go, what does it connect to at other end.

Curiosity led to me yanking out the instrument panel. The wire wasn’t factory and probably used for POs CB hookup. Oh well, now I can take a shot at replacing the speedo needle and burned out indicator lamps. Thank you for everyone’s help.
