Vacuum fitting on manifold

My manifold is missing the fitting for the brake booster hose shown in photo. Can you buy that fitting? My son has one on a manifold that I was going to try borrow. I tried remove it but it didn't want to come out. It will spin easily and move a little bit, I didn't want to try too hard and break it. Has anyone removed this fitting?

You can buy those or find one in a junk yard. It is a typical push loc type fitting. To get one out of a manifold you push the red ring and pull on the fitting.

Thanks for the reply, I would like to remove the fitting that has the red ring, that is the part I'm missing

I am not 100% sure but I believe that is part of the manifold and if it is missing I believe you need a whole manifold? Do you have a picture of your manifold in that location?

I can't really get a picture of the manifold in that location, it fairly tight up against the firewall. In the picture of my sons manifold above it looks like it's part of the manifold but it's not I can freely turn it by hand. After it was installed at the factory it was probably not meant to be removed. I think you may be right and would have to replace the manifold if I want that fitting. I wish I noticed it before I installed the motor, it would have been way easier to deal with. I will see if the hole in the manifold is close to one of the pipe tap thread sizes if not I will have to turn something in a lathe and glue it in.

Thanks for the help

Or, cut off the fitting, Drexel/grind the fitting out of the manifold. Then tap manifold for barbed brass fitting

You can install a plug or a hose fitting into that hole. Here’s a video.
