There are a few listed in post #1, but here is a little list.

'67-'70 pickups, Suburbans, Blazers
'70-'74 Impala, Caprice
'80's G body Vans (full sized)
Early Astro/Safari vans with the vacuum booster
'82-'02 S10/S15 pickups and Blazers
'88-'98 full sized pickups
'92-'98 Suburbans, Blazers

There may be some other applications, and/or years, but these are the ones I have been able to verify.

Captainfab...can any of the above be used with drum/drum? im getting ready to work on a 63 panel/230 for my wife and need power first...then i will convert to disk at a later date if this is possible.

thanks.

Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket

Most any of those boosters can be used with a drum/drum braking system. You just need the correct master cylinder. Since you are planning on upgrading to discs at a later time, I would suggest any of the listed boosters except the '67-'70 pickup, Suburban and Blazer booster. Then for a master cylinder you will want the '70 Buick Estate wagon master cylinder. The A1 Cardone number is 10-1363. Double check to be sure the one they give you have the shallow bore. It is basically just a dimple in the back of the piston which will be compatable with any of those boosters listed.

I'm going to be ordering a booster bracket for '64 1/2 ton with discs up front. Read thru post , anyone have info or links on making / proper adjustment on making rods work ?

Captainfab 01-09-2014 02:02 AM

Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket

Are you needing to know how to lengthen the booster pushrod? Or is your question about the intermediate pushrod?

Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket

Just wondering on how to tell correct length an how to adjust. Have no problem making it longer or shorter

Captainfab 01-10-2014 12:39 AM

Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket

The recommended adjustment for the booster to pedal pushrod is around 1/4" to the bumpstop, but it is also a matter of personal preference. I like mine a little tighter than that. But you have to be careful that you don't preload the master cylinder. If that does happen, everytime you push the pedal, the brakes will begin 'pumping up' until the brakes are totally locked.

Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket

I need to order another booster bracket for the 66 I just got. I am going to leave it drum drum for a now but need to split the brakes and go to a duel master cylinder. Whats the best combo of booster and master? Was looking at just putting the complete 67 setup on it.
Thanks
Jimmy

Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket

Since you are staying drum/drum, yes you will want to use a '67-'70 booster and master cylinder, or any of the compatable boosters along with the '70 Buick Estate wagon master cylinder. Have you seen Sharps40 thread on his power brake upgrade? I'll send you a PM with payment info.

Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket

Thanks for the info and payment made on the bracket. If I go this route and decide to go with front disc would a master cylinder and proportioning valve swap be all that needed? I have a bad habit of not leaving well enough alone.
Thanks
Jimmy

Captainfab 01-14-2014 12:24 AM

Re: Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket

If you think you may go with discs later, I would go with any one of the compatable boosters and the '70 Buick Estate wagon master cylinder (A1 Cardone #10-1363), rather than the '67-'70 booster and master. The reason being is that the '67-'70 booster has the long intermediate pushrod for a deep bore master cylinder. The majority of the disc brake master cylinders have the shallow bore. The Buick master is for drum/drum brakes but is a shallow bore master.

Hi, I'm a new member to the forum. I have a 1965 chevy truck that is mostly stock but I would like to make some upgrades. I have seen your Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket and would be interested in purchasing one. How would I go about buying one and what booster master cylinder combination would you recommend? Thanks!
