Just be sure it matches your piston- shallow or deep- and you should be good to go. Stock disc/drum combo valve can be gutted for use with disc/disc...

Cool. I was going to pick up the prop valve you have suggested. Thanks for all the help Capt. I will be ordering real soon, probably within the next week.

Received my brackets the other day--they look great! Well packaged and BEEFY. Gonna look great in satin black powder.

Thanks again!

Also, if anyone is looking for a set of rotors for this swap, I have some for sale cheap here:

Hey Capt, Would it be possible to use a line-loc unit as a parking brake with the either caliper? I would think you could, any thoughts..

Re: D52 Caliper Rear Disc Brake Brackets

Using a line lock or a Mico lock has been done many times. It does work but it is not legal in those states that require an e-brake. It has to be a mechanical e-brake to be legal.

Re: D52 Caliper Rear Disc Brake Brackets

I have never sold a complete conversion, just the brackets. It just seems pointless to be to pay the shipping on the rotors and calipers, etc. which are heavy, when you can just take the parts list down to your local auto parts store and pick them up.

capt I'm running 15" ralley rims 15x10 4.5 backspacing will your bracket work for me.

Re: D52 Caliper Rear Disc Brake Brackets

The 15 x 8 Ralley wheels will fit, so I would assume that your 15 x 10's would also.

Do these fit a 79 c10 10 bolt ?

Captainfab 11-23-2012 12:35 AM

Re: D52 Caliper Rear Disc Brake Brackets

Yes, these will fit all truck 12 bolts from '64-'82 and the truck 10 bolts from '80-'87

Do you make plates for a 63 c10 5 lug conversion?

Re: D52 Caliper Rear Disc Brake Brackets

Any of my 3, 5 lug rear disc brake brackets will work with the 5 lug conversions on the original 6 lug differentials. However if your '63 has the original 12 bolt, they will not work for you. This is because the '63 12 bolts have pressed on backing plates. Therefore there is not a flange welded to the axle tube that the backing plate bolts to. The best option for disc brakes on a '63 12 bolt will be a weld on caliper bracket.

just out of curiosity i dont know anything about the cadillacs but if the rear calipers work would the rotors not work as well since they should be the same thickness as the astro rotors or would there be a back space issue since its a car? what about the master cylinder as well since it should be a disc/disc setup

sorry not trying to pick your brain just trying to see if theres more options

Re: D52 Caliper Rear Disc Brake Brackets

Yes the Eldorado rotors could have been used when designing these brackets, but I was wanting to use a rotor that could be found in a wrecking yard. The Astro/Safari vans are fairly plentiful in the wrecking yards. The '76-'79 Eldorado's are not. I know that new rotors are not that expensive, but sometimes a guy needs to be resourceful. Also the long term availability of the Eldorado rotors may be hard to predict. The Astro/Safari rotors are slightly larger in diameter than the Eldorado rotors.

The Eldorado master cylinder should work just fine with most GM boosters. If you happen to find an Eldorado in a wrecking yard, grab the proportioning valve also.

I picked up all the Eldo parts at PullAPart but have been holding off because I want to retain my 6-bolt pattern. A bore and sleeve at White Horse and they'll be better than new.
