Re: 1964 C10 Survivor
I am blatantly stealing your intermittent wiper function and claiming it as my own.
Woody is still some way from hitting the road again but this is a really good upgrade that means I can, like other, use my truck as a truck in all weathers. Nice. As for the paint, in the pictures I cant see it until I look for it so wouldn't worry. P. :D |

In other news I installed some polyurethane body mounts, and that was a mistake. I’m going to buy the rubber kit. These make so much noise and transfer so much vibration to the cab that I thought I broke my truck. I also installed a headlights-on buzzer so I don’t drain my battery due to forgetfulness. |
Re: 1964 C10 Survivor
That seals it - I'm going to order rubber for my cab mounts. I know I'm not supper chuffed about the poly on my '77.
Headlights buzzer can be just a cheap buzzer, with + hooked to lights, and - hooked to ignition positive. When key is on, buzzer sees + on both sides, and no sound. Key is off but lights are on, buzzer grounds through the "off" ignition somewhere and makes noise. I put one in my '77 and saves my bacon all the time. |
Re: 1964 C10 Survivor
After my thread earlier asking about rubber or poly body mounts glad to hear that I have made the right decision!
Rubber mounts are En Route, well hopefully, but that is a story for another day.... P. :D |
Re: 1964 C10 Survivor
Yes, there is a thread in here about that. Rubber is more cushionny.

I'm pretty sure you aren't going to want to paint this one either. I think that gmc color is somewhat rare. |

8-lugger. Staying HD or going to do a 5-lug swap?

While I'm working on the GMC, I'm just racking up miles on this truck. It's been so good all summer. |
Re: 1964 C10 Survivor
Driving this thing rain or shine. More rain than shine lately.

I approve!

Re: 1964 C10 Survivor
Oh No! Park it. Store it away and only bring it out for car shows and special occasions for others to see and say 'ooohh ahhh'. That's the purpose of a classic vehicle. Like Jay, you need 1000's of sq ft of ooohh ahhh vehicles.

Re: 1964 C10 Survivor
That's a good looking truck.

Re: 1964 C10 Survivor
New chapter to the story...this truck is going to a new home about 4 hours north. It's been a great truck but I can't keep it inside while I have other projects and I don't want to watch it deteriorate. I hope the new owner enjoys it!

Re: 1964 C10 Survivor
This has been a good read, as I work on my '64 C10 rescue down south in Eugene. I didn't see any note of late transmission changes, were you still happy with the overdrive NP833 trans? That's what's in my truck now, connected to a little 305 small block V8.
