Here’s some pictures of my progress, first is my 6.0 and completed engine harness, first then some pictures of my progress over the last year or so. Sorry it’s been so long since there’s been any pictures. Photobucket took the wind out of my sails. Thank goodness for the google chrome hack! I don’t know which is more annoying photobucket or iphone sideways pictures. Ill figure out how to flip the pictures and get them fixed over the next few days.

Some of the 465 guts stripped down after vat.

465 after rebuild. bearings, syncros. 1st, 2nd, 3rd gear bushings and complete re-seal. I didn’t have any third gear pop-out issues so I just replaced the counter shaft lock-rings and called it good.

205 after tear down and vat. Again pardon the clutter. I needed a quick place to stash the parts after the caustic bath.

Very nice work and update. I feel your pain on the pics uploading side ways and PB really sucks.

Re: 72 k/20

Thanks Ryan. Last night I didn’t get a chance to update the overall direction I’m headed. I’ve decided to put the 350 back in it for another year or two until I get some more money together to do the 6.0 swap the way I want. I will be sticking with the 4 speed even with the 6.0. The 6 speed would/maybe one day will be cool but for now I’m contempt grabbing gears on my own. I’m also not going to paint the truck right away. I’ve got a few other money thirsty projects on my hands and this truck is a long term build. For now I’m going to get all the bare metal sealed up and everything seam sealed. Then I’ll begin putting it back together to more or less look like it did when I tore it apart paint and body wise. I’m going to paint and go thru the axles when I do the springs. Once the transfer case is back together I’m going to just re seal the engine as it runs good other than a few leaks. hopefully then it will all start finding its way back together.

Thanks Jeff! Dad told me all about the trucks you’ve got going. I need to get over your way the next time we come home.

Here’s a quick update picture:
Engine went back in today. Transmission and transfer case have been in for a month or so now.
They were both full rebuilds. The engine I tore down to just the block and rotating assembly. The Bores have a ridge but the heads look good. Slapped it back together with all new seals and gaskets, gonna let it eat for now. I didnt go thru all the work to paint the engine for a couple reasons. 1 it wouldn’t look right in the engine bay as I’m not planning to detail and paint the engine bay until I do the body work. 2. I’m only planning to run this engine while I gather up the parts to complete my Ls swap. It’s been cleaned and re sealed so hopefully it’ll stay clean. The tranny and transfer case I plan to run for a long long time hence the rebuild and paint. It’s got all new mounts, new 12” luk clutch, resurfaced flywheel etc.

The trans and tcase look great. I don't blame ya for leaving the SBC for now. Those LS swaps can eat money no like no other.

Thanks guys I appreciate it! I haven’t checked this thread since I posted last. Pete I’ll text you in the next day or so about the nl2 stuff my plans haven’t gone the way I had hoped.
