RHP-5 Multi-Piece Wheel Dangerous?

2 Attachment(s)
I looked at my 1 1/2 ton wheels and I noticed at least one one has the raised center section. It does appear to have a lock ring on the other side of the wheel though. It appears to be an RHP-5. Are they to be avoided like the RH-5 "widowmaker" wheels or is it just the true split wheels without lock rings? The rear wheel looks the same on the reverse as the front wheel pictured. This is the only one I noticed on the truck with the raised center section.

Here's a link to the various wheels as seen at stovebolt:

If it has a lock ring on the outside of the rim it can safely be used. You still need to know what you are doing when changing the tire. The rim needs to be disassembled and checked to ensure it is in good condition to be used. It is not as dangerous as the rh5 but can be a danger if you do not know what you are doing. I pesonally do not use multipiece wheels. You have a tough bolt pattern to find used 22.5 wheels. The 6 bolt 22.5 are more common.
