70 k20 3/4 ton build "Shirley"
Howdy from Texas ya'll
I have been a member of this forum for some time now, I have a 68 c10 that I'm slowly, but surely restoring. I recently (Feb 2016') had the pleasure of buying a 1970 Chevrolet K20 3/4 ton 4x4, with a hydraulic flatbed from a coworker. The truck was purchased with a tired out 350 motor that had leaks from every possible seam. The truck was not drivable when he sold it to me, but I took a leap of faith and bought it anyway. I proceeded to have to truck taken to a small hot rod shop in the city that I work in called Freer, Texas. There the truck was to undergo a heart transplant as well as other minor things here and there to get here road worthy. I decided to name her Shirley. This is her with some jeep wheels and 37" tires that the previous owner tried pulling off, looked cool, but rubbed too much and motor and trans didn't move them well enough, clutch was toast and flywheel was all heat spotted. http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k8...0/IMG_6063.jpg http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k8...0/IMG_2426.jpg |

Apologies for not updating sooner, been swamped with working night shift, I'm back to working day shift and no longer being a zombie.
With that being said, here are some more parts that I've gathered for my build. Soaked the Comp lifters for a few days while we worked on other things for the build http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k8...406_144403.jpg Ordered some nice longtube Hedman hedders, which will be heat wrapped later http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k8...2_143128-1.jpg http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k8...49789128_1.jpg New Duralast waterpump http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k8...0/IMG_0452.jpg http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k8...IMG_1163_1.jpg Preppin' to install pistons and rods http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k8...0/IMG_1145.jpg Comp Cams Thumper cam that's going into motor http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k8...0-141802_1.png http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k8...0-141751_1.png |

Re: 70 k20 3/4 ton build "Shirley"
Man, Shirley is a real nice and clean K20. That dump bed is a nice treat too. Nice work on that 454. Do those headers fit a 2wd car or are they for a BBC in a 67-72 4wd?
