Nominations TOTM November 2006
Our Truck of the Month (TOTM) theme for this month is
Rats!! With that in mind, let look at the criteria or rules for the nominees. • Open to all years and models of Trucks, Blazers, Suburbans, Tahoes, Yukons, and Jimmys. • It must have a functioning Big Block Engine (Any GM Big Block will be permitted Chevy, Buick, Olds, PontyRat, and CaddyRat). • It must be together and able to move on its own power. It does not have to be licensed for street use. • If a truck has won a TOTM already in the last 12 months, you are ineligible. If you were nominated but were not selected as a TOTM winner then you may be nominated and compete in this month's category. In addition, if it is a different truck than that won prior, you may also compete. To Nominate: You or someone else may nominate your truck. Just add the nomination to this thread. We will need a picture of the nominee vehicle, the owner’s board name, and the basics specs of the truck (year, engine/drive train specs). You or your nominator can provide additional info if desired. Nominees will through November 24. If additional information is needed, then I will PM the first 15 nominees to get any additional data or pictures if they haven’t already been provided. You can PM me for an e-mail address in case anyone has problems resizing them for the board. We will then put together a Poll Thread and announce it here on the General Discussion Board for the voting. The Poll will start to run on November 25 and will run till the morning of November 30. The official announcement of the winner will be on the afternoon of November 30. The announcement of the TOTM will be posted through the General Discussion Board area. |

I would like to nominate my 71 Chevy Cheyenne Super with a Supercharged 468. This truck was finished in August of this year. You can see all of the chrome and billet on the motor. It is pushing just over 700 horse power with the supercharger. Turbo 400 with 300 stall, leather interior, Bags from Airride front and rear. Everything has been replaced or redone on this truck. Look at how you can see the reflections on the custom green paint. It is running on 20" wheels and tire. I can get your more pics if needed as well.
Here is a video of the truck and one of the motor so you can hear it as well. The motor video is the first one. http://videos.streetfire.net/video/b...7e0068d1d9.htm http://videos.streetfire.net/video/3...5b0166e5cb.htm |

Re: Nominations TOTM November 2006
I was nominated... :haha:
Thank you. My ride is more interesting, than it is nice. There is no one portion, that stands out head and shoulders above the crowd, but, it is better than the average daily driver beater. While the truck is broke down at this moment, it'll be back up and running with a freshly rebuilt TH350 before the end of this contest, so it does fall within the rules. I recieved this truck as a gift from selected board members, and went to PA with longhorn jeff, to pick it up in april of 02. She looked pretty bad, had a pontiac 350 that was pretty sick, and a pontiac TH350 that was questionable at best. (hey, it DID handle my right foot and a big block for over a year) http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/a...1&d=1142046273 http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/a...1&d=1142046194 She sat in my driveway for a couple years with a cad 425 bolted in, but the swap wasn't completed untill I freed up my wallet from the constraints of a bad marrige. 6 months after moving out, I had it on the road... scared the neighbors, and had lots of fun... for a day and a half... when I blew it up. Well, my now ex-girlfriend got sick of seeing me in a stinkin lincoln, so she got me the holy grail of (factory) torque monster big blocks... a caddy 500. Stabbed that sucker in, slapped some primer on the mis match panels, and gave her hell. if I was rollin.... I had smoke coming off the right rear; http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/a...1&d=1124327731 Doing a little of this, and a little of that to her, she has become a little more neighborhood friendly, and a bit nicer to cruise around town in. Some chump on e-bay sold me these seats, with brackets for 120 bones...to my door. (Don't ask, i don't remember his ID) http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/a...1&d=1105836740 A van tilt and a trans am wheel adds to the comefortable cruising; http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/a...1&d=1128127504 The body is a conglomoration (sp???) of parts. The 69 grill and front (junk) fenders came off my old truck, the hood was given to me by a board member last summer, passenger door and cowl are both from my first longhorn, and the bed is leftovers from another board member up in Michigan who donated a rolling chassis with bed...all from Oklahoma. (When i say donated, that means I drove 400 miles to get the junk out of his yard) The tailgate is there for pure function, as it's form has chainged over the years.... being that the skin is falling off, but it was a $25 junk yard find, so I ain't complaining...I have one up in Toledo that is just shy of mint. I really need to go get that sucker. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/a...1&d=1142387702 http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/a...1&d=1129683939 http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/a...1&d=1129684145 |

Re: Nominations TOTM November 2006
Other features that make it cool(ish) includes a solid (ply)wood floor in the bed, rather than the freeway sign and craptastic bedliner that it had... a kick ass large by huge snap on alluminum diamondplate tool box, a decent sounding Pioneer CD player with a set of 6X9's... enough to make your ears bleed... home brew LED tail lights, also LEDs in the inst panel... and of course, the 500 that has been worn .030 over, edelbrock 750 carb on an adapter plate (for now) all painted blue and lookin pretty, all exhailing through the first 1/2 of the J.C. whitny daul exhaust kit with NAPA brand (walker seconds) rumble muflers. The tranny, as indicated before, is scattered all over this dude's shop right now, but getting assembled with all new stuff and a wiz-bang shift kit, and a slightly higher stall converter...but nohting worth bragging about. All this twists the stock drive shaft with new HD u-joints (sealed, no weakening holes in the U-joint body) and C-bearing, into a HO 72 Eaton/corp rear with a 4.10 gears...soon to be a dana with 3.54's.
Up untill last weekend when the tranny crapped out, she has been drop dead reliable, only needing minimal thrashings, I don't need to follow it with a wrench, although some floor dry wouldn't hurt. (she's a little bit of a leaker) None the less, this is my baby, made posible by this wonderfull board, and even though it's only been on the road for 1 1/2 years, I already have a bunch of memories that involve it... it burning tires, it and chicks, it drawing attention when ever the hood is up.... and the fun has just begun. |
Re: Nominations TOTM November 2006
I want to nominate Longhorn Jeff with his 69 custom Camper, CST/20 Longhorn, with a 396, Th400, and 4.10 gears. he has something like 18 options, and to date, i swear when i drove his rig a few years ago, it was the best ride i had ever had in a 67 - 72 (unloaded of course)
