Rear brake drum rim interference 77 c10
2 Attachment(s)
I got some aftermarket wheel vintiques 62 series 15x8 steel rims from Jegs. 4.25 backspacing. The rear is a 1977 big 10. The rim is hitting the lip of the brake drum. Are the rear brakes on a Big 10 bigger than the normal c10. It is almost 1.5 inches short of going on all the way, basically the length of the lug nut. I took the drum off and it went right on. Anyone dealt with this before and what was the solution. The 15x6 steels I have been running fit right on.

Big 10 would have the big brake package. 11.15x2.75 vs 11x2 for base brakes. So yes, the drums are wider and deeper.

Is the wheel 10”? If so, Wheel Vintique probably reversed that wheel on you. If you still have the box, I bet it says REV on it. Thanks Mike

My bud had a '78 or so Big 10 & we tried to install 8" Rallye wheels & they wouldn't fit.

I have one Heavy Half and a Big10 and 8" "factory" rally wheels fit on both. ???? Weird.

Re: Rear brake drum rim interference 77 c10
Im going to grab a rear drum off a non big 10 and see if that clears. If so ill have a decision to make.
1. 11x2 drum brake conversion. 2. Disc brake conversion. Only concern is..would the disc brakes clear? |
