Here is my 95 Chevy K1500 Silverado. Its not a big project I like to keep it clean and in good shape. I bought it earlier this year and use it as my daily driver. It is a regular cab long bed with the 350 engine, auto trans, and 4 wheel drive. The truck only has 86,000 miles on it.

Here is what it looked like when i bought it.
Since then I got rid of the camper shell. Took off the ground effects.
Got a new rear bumper, and took off the window vents and bug shield. When I took off the ground effects I found some unexpected rust and ended up taking it to the body shop to get fixed.

Wow, that truck is clean. And that's only about 5k miles a year for 17 years -- incredible. Looks a lot better with all the Grandpa accessories off of it. I noticed the 98 tailgate treatment; I guess it's been painted once?

Re: My 1995 Chevrolet 1500

I know some parts of it have been re painted. I put the 98 emblem on it because the big metal chevrolet was wore and looked bad.

Very nice looking truck with the accessories removed. What kind of rust did you find when you took the stuff off?

Great truck. You should be proud of it.

Re: My 1995 Chevrolet 1500

It was mainly where they had drilled holes to mount the ground effects. The cab corners, bottom corner of fender, and a spot on the bed needed work. Not what I wanted to find but I guess it should be expected with the salt on the roads in ohio.

Yeah, I guess it's par for the course in the rust belt. My '95 w/73k miles has got rust on the door bottoms behind that black rubber piece, bottom of the tailgate and two little bitty holes on the hood of all places. I should get them fixed before they get worse. I won't drive it anymore when it snows or afterwards when it's sloppy. Guess that rust started back when it was my everyday truck.

Here are some photos of my truck in January 2014.
I have been using it as a daily driver since I bought it a few years ago.

Some of the most recent updates include replacing carpet with vinyl floor, fender flares, and Edelbrock Performer intake.

looks really nice! love the look with the flares, the flares make it look rugged and tough! what brand wheels are those? they look nice.

Re: My 1995 Chevrolet 1500

Yeah the fender flares definitely changed the looks. Best of all they covered up some rust repairs I had to make on the front fenders.

The wheels were on the truck when I bought it. I'm not sure of the brand but I do know they were bought from discount tire. I will have to look and see if it says the brand name anywhere on them

Thanks for the compliments guys.
chevyboy73 the wheels are MB wheels gunner 17 inch. I found the previous owners receipt for the tires and wheels. They had only been on the truck for 3 weeks when I bought it.

Beautiful truck you have there! I have to ask what edelbrock performer intake did you buy? I know the TBI engines have a different angle for the 4 inner bolt holes than regular SBC engines. Did you run a egr still or eliminate it?

I used the Edelbrock Performer TBI intake part # 3704. It is a stock replacement for the 305 & 350 engines. It uses all of the original equipment including egr. The main reason I swapped it for the stock is because the original ones heater quick connect disintegrated and the threads for the intake were pretty messed up. Since the intake gasket was leaking I figured it was the time to fix it the right way.

Here is a link for the intake.

Looks really good. What fender flares did you get? Did you order them painted or did you do it yourself?

Super clean truck. Can't tell if it has a rear bumper or if its some elaborate mirror setup...

Re: My 1995 Chevrolet 1500

I ordered the fender flares from ebay. I am happy with them but they are not as good of quality as stock would be. They also only cost me $135 for the whole set of 4 flares. Here is a link to the ones I bought

They come as a flat black color plastic. I took them to a local body shop and had them painted to match the pickup.

Re: My 1995 Chevrolet 1500

Do they mount the same as the chrome trim or do you have to drill?

The reason why I ask that is because I have 2 sets of wheels I run. One is my winter set with offset 33"s and the other is stock with 285s. I'd like to run flares with the winter set.

It sounds funny because it is.

The fender flares have double face tape pre attached to the upper part that goes onto the fender. The part that actually goes into the lip of the wheel well attaches with some screws. There are no pre drilled holes in the fender flares so if you want you could probally drill the holes in the same location as the chrome trim.
My truck had the holes drilled in weird spots from the weird ground effect running boards the origional owner had on it, so I ended up drilling new holes.

You also have to cut the black body molding to make the fender flares fit.
