6 Lug Rear Disc with 15" Wheels and an E-Brake

This set of brackets will allow you to have rear disc brakes on your 6 x 5.5 bolt pattern ’64-’87 GM truck 10 and 12 bolt rear differentials, and be able to run 15" wheels and also have an e-brake. This rear disc conversion is completely bolt on with one exception. The drum/wheel register will need machined down to approximately 3.06”. I do recommend upgrading to ½” wheel studs at this time, but it isn’t absolutely necessary for the installation. The rotors used with these brackets as well as the calipers are easily found at your local auto parts supplier. The basic application for the rotors is '88-'91 K1500 Silverado front rotors without F44 suspension. The calipers used on this conversion are the rear calipers used on the '79-'85 Eldorado, Riveria and Toronado as well as the 3rd gen F-bodies (I will get more specifics on those later). A complete parts list with part numbers is included with the brackets.

The cost on this set of brackets with installation hardware is $179.50. Satin black powder coating is an additional $28.00. Shipping within the USA is a flat $16.25. This pricing is always current and up to date. If you are outside of the USA, contact me for a shipping cost. For payments I accept PayPal and money orders. Credit card payments can be made thru PayPal. To place an order, post in this thread, send me a PM or send an email to captainfab454@hotmail.com, and I will give you the ordering and payment instructions and current lead time.

Here are some assembled pics. These 3 pics are with a typical '78+ metric front caliper.

These pics are with the '79-'85 Eldorado, Riveria, Toronado rear caliper. This particular one is the wrong one for that side, but it was all I had at the moment to check for fitment

Nice! I'd love a set. My question is- would this rear disc setup pair well with stock 71-87 front discs? Or do I need to upgrade? Do I need to swap master cylinders or proportioning valves?

Re: 6 Lug Rear Disc with 15" Wheels and an E-Brake

This rear disc conversion will work fine with a stock type '71-'87 front disc conversion, but you will have 5 lug on the front and 6 on the rear. Yes you need to change the master cylinder to a disc/disc master and the proportioning valve needs to be either a fixed disc/disc valve or an adjustable valve in the rear circuit.

Very nice. Do stock e brake cables work or how does the e brake set up work. Sorry for dumb questions. Thanks.

Re: 6 Lug Rear Disc with 15" Wheels and an E-Brake

Sorry, 2 more. Does this alter the track of the rear wheels or the pitch between them and does the std 4" backspacing that are on 8 inch 6 lug rims like 15x8" steelies or ralleys fit.
Thanks again.

Re: 6 Lug Rear Disc with 15" Wheels and an E-Brake

I haven't installed any of these, so I do not have an exact answer to that question. I doubt that the stock drum brake cables will work, but I imagine it might be possible. Typically a custom length cable needs to be made, unless someone knows of an OEM application that works.

Yes this disc brake conversion will increase your track width aprox 3/8-1/2". As long as you are using disc brake compatable wheels I do not see a problem. I have not checked fitment of any wheels yet. I can do that in the next couple days.

Here is a link to the correct calipers on Speedway.

Keep in mind that you will need a left and a right.

Capitanfab -- very interested in a set of these. Especially since Im within the first 6 to respond.

***The first 6 members to post here in this thread will pay only $150.00 for bare steel brackets plus shipping of $11.65***

How would you like payment? Also looking for a hydraulic clutch bracket for my 1970. Will the 60-62 with clutch work for me?

I will send you a PM with payment info.

No the booster bracket hydraulic clutch for the '60-'62 will not work for a '67-'72. As I posted in your thread, I make a booster bracket with a hydraulic clutch conversion specifically for the '67-'72 trucks.

Still in effect correct? Do you have any custom e-brake cable kits you recommend?

Re: 6 Lug Rear Disc with 15" Wheels and an E-Brake

I am assuming that you have changed out your original differential for a 12 bolt or a 8.5" 10 bolt?

I'm not sure who is making custom e-brake cables since Inlinetube quit making them a few months ago.

I will send you a PM with ordering and payment info.

So these will work with the 15" steelie disc brake wheels (4 nub) or no? If so I am interested in a set
