tires - 225/75/15's
bags - slam specialties RE7's all the way around

up front, the easiest way to go about it is to get the plates and cups from *****************. that saves you the time of fabbing up your own plates.

I also am running 2.5" drop spindles up front.

I didn't need to tub, however, the pumpkin will hit the floor of you bed when aired out. if you have larger tires, you may have to.

thanks! and how about the rear bag setup? did you use a kit? whered you get the notch? im really counting on you! lol you're truck is the whole reason im baggin mine, no lie! so i want all the specific details so i can duplicate your whole setup! thanks alot!

I'm happy to hear you like my truck. It's always cool to hear someone say they're inspired to tackle their own project based on something you did.

most of the details are throughout this thread, but the rear bags are RE7's as well, and were simply mounted in place of the factory coil springs. The notch is the standard ECE notch that you'll see a lot of the guys on this forum using. I'm also running some home made 2.25" blocks, but they really aren't needed. You will also need to get an adjustable panhard bar from ECE as well so that your rear end stays in the correct spot.

make sure to take lots of pics and post them up in a build thread when you do start tearing into it.

You could always save some time and just buy my truck. $11k takes it home. I'd have no issues driving it to TX either :)

i really wish i had 11k. you would be driving to tx! lol anyways, i want to build my truck, mainly because my great grandfather bought it new, drove it till the day he died, it had been sittin since 1989, until i then resurrected it, and i am on a mission to make somethin he'd be proud of!

Your truck is beautiful, i want to match your truck pretty close, except mine will be red and white two tone. thanks alot for answering my questions, i may have a few more down the road, so please hang around to answer them! lol heres another batch of questions, on the rear, how are the bags mounted to the trailing arms? did you simply drill holes? and what about on the frame? what about air line provisions? do you have any pics of the front bag setup? thanks sooo much!

sorry, i don't have hardly anything for pics of the front setup.

in the rear, the bottom bag mount will go through the existing hole in the trailing arm. just make sure you get the right length bolt (not to long, and use a couple washers to make sure it doesn't pull through the hole in the arm). For the top you'll have to drill your frame. the crappy thing is, to get the fittings through the frame you'll need to drill about a 1.125" hole. I was going through for layers of steel, upside down, pushing up... it sucked.

what would you suggest for bags? my main issue is cost.

i found some chassis tech de-nominator bags, that are "supposedly" the same thing as airlift dominator bags, im not sure how legit these are, but for the price saving i thought i would try! thanks alot

I'm sure he meant CPP, they make the bolt-in notch that most people use, including myself.

I have a CPP notch but after seeing others I think I'm gonna get some thick steel round tube and make the notch round to match the rear end and then box the frame in that area. you can fab a notch like the others also....

***************** usually has them in stock. And yeah, fabbing your own notch should not be any big deal. Just use some .25 wall tube, and i would suggest boxing that part of your frame too.

thanks so much guys! i really wish i could start on this now! but first, i need tires.

i might get the bags, build the notch, install the rear bags, then run some lines to a ball valve, so i can use it without a compressor and tank, once i can afford that stuff ill upgrade.

i'm not sure how well a ball valve will work. especially since you need to be able to force air in, and let it out.

Another option for doing bags on the cheap is to use shrader valves. You can get them at NAPA for a couple bucks. Then you don't even need to run a tank.

I suppose you could run a tank with a single shrader, then have ball valves between each bag and the tank, but then you'll still need something, maybe a shrader to let air out.

they have a handle to put air in and a small valve to let air out and a big clock to measure the amound of pressure . you need to put a different hose on the end so there permanently hooked to the bags though or maibe one of those thats hooked up to a manifold with 4 schrader valves so you can tune the bags one at a time by opening the valve to that bag
