Took it for the first drive last night!

I finally got the truck roadworthy and took the truck with the cammed L83 and 6 speed auto for a drive. It ran pretty good! The L83 has a BTR 220 cam with headers and a 3" exhaust. There are some bugs to work out like the power steering pump, but it ran well, started fine, and had good power.

This build has been an adventure I do not wish to repeat. LOL

Great looking truck. If it was your first LS swap it can be a bit daunting.
Your truck looks similar to my 68.

Completing a direct injected motor has be be another level of complication.
I am confident there is more wire between the motor and the ECU than their was in the whole truck when it was new.
Looks better than great!
Cheers

It is an L83, not an LS. I've done an LS and it was pretty easy. This is a bit harder to say the least!

No doubt about that. Add in the fuel pump, fan wiring, and numerous other goodies and I could have bought stock in a copper company!

Sorry I missed the part about being a L83.
