i am looking at buying a 66 suburban it has already been lowered but i was wondering what it would take to add power steering in it and what i could pull the steering out of, the truck currently to a body man and needs very minimal body work done to it but has no motor, i am going to put a 350/350 combo in it and he had a 327/350 in it the 350 i have already has power steering set up on it but what could i get a box out of, also any info on this truck would help, i plan on putting a back seat in it that is easily removable like in a minivan or something and buckets up front and painting the truck light blue and white (it is in primer) but any and all help would be appreciated

You can use the P/S box out of a 72 and later truck. If you can, find a doner that has everything you will need. P/S box, P/S pump, pump mounting brackets and crank pully.

Ues an adapter plate from REZ Engineering and follow their directions. Some welding of the column shaft is required to shorten it.

I used a P/S box from Mullins Steering Gears that was performance tuned for 3 turn lock-to-lock. I was glad I did.
I installed a tilt column and Borgensen vibration dampner on the column and connected it to the box with a DD shaft and another Borgesen U-joint. Everything bolted up to the REZ adapter in an afternoon with no welding required.

The REZ adapter is the ONLY way to do this. It mounts the box in perfect alignment and has a backing plate that reinforces the fram from stress cracking.

rez kit is great, if the extra hole you have to drill is off even a little it doesn't line up. Finding hoses locally that fit correctly based on your p/s pump and brackets can be time consuming. I have the NAPA numbers I used laying around if you want them.

Please post those NAPA numbers for the PS hoses that you used. Thanks.

These were the closest i could find for the early pump and box. Still required just a little tweaking, but they have been on well over 6 months and no problems
