17" Steel Wheels 8x6.5

I have been searching for a stock looking 17" steel wheel in a 8x6.5 lug pattern so I can run 1 ton axles on my 69 blazer.

Just looking for stock looking steel wheels but only seem to find them in 16s.

And Detroit Steel Wheels makes them in 18s and 20" smoothies.

Be nice to run 17s with so many tires choices.

Maybe look into later model base trim Chev and Ram wheels. Ram trucks are the same 8x6.5 bolt pattern to this day. Chev changed to a 8x180mm around 2011 I think.

You would have to get those 17"s custom made via Stockton Wheel or another widening shop. 16"s are the only option for a dog dish accepting steel wheel. Only other alternative is using a Dodge Steel Rally looking 8 lug wheel. I believe those are 17"s. You can't go wrong with a set of US INDY MAGS though, I have a set of 17x10"s for my crew cab. I also have a set of the 16x10"s steelies on my crew cab currently.

I hit up Stockton wheels, they can make the Series 22 and Power Wagon wheels in 17x8 and 17x9s.

They can cut the 20 series into 17s but that would require a 5.5" back spacing which would require some spacers on my part.

Wasnt sure if there was anyone else that makes that stock looking series 20 wheels in a 17x8 or 17x9 in a 4-4.25" backspacing.

Hey man,

I moved to Austin about 4 years ago...... not sure if you have seen it, but I built a set of 17x9" steelies that came out pretty good.

HMU if you want to check them out sometime.

LOL...

Yeah it paints a pretty vivid picture, I could almost imagine that scene. Gave me a chuckle all those years ago when he first posted it, so I've used it as my .sig ever since.

I think there is a huge gap in the market for 17x9 wheels for both 6 and 8 lug options.
If someone made an affordable ($250 ea.) 17x9 cast aluminum wheel that replicated the factory steel wheels and accepted the factory dog dish caps, you wouldn't be able to keep up with the demand.
Modern tire sizes, lighter weight and still keep the OG look...killer combo.

Sounds like an opportunity for Coy's.

Trev,
Not to sidetrack the thread, but do you have a pic of your crewcab with the 17x10 US Indy mags on it ? Those are beautiful wheels, wish they came a bit narrower (8", 9" wide) for street tires.
