More of the tear-down. All the paint, spare tire, wheels are original. The only thing that's been changed is the seat cover.

Dagobah, great progress on the '69. I have a '68 stepside I am working on that sat for 15 years outdoors. The screws holding the fenders to the bed are pretty frozen, what did you do to get them out and remove your rear fenders?

Great looking project. My son and I are doing a 69 step. He drives it, so taking it apart may not work as well. I want to try my hand at paint and body work this winter.

We had to cut a lot of the bolts off too. If I remember right, those are Phillips head. Some of them we cut a groove in so we could use a flat blade screwdriver. Some of those are square shank so you can get a wrench on the shank. That was the last resort. If you can use a good impact driver with a Phillips bit on it that might work.

I tried an impact driver, buy no luck. I will likely cut them off to save time. Next time I think I will go with stainless and make sure I use a little antiseize.

It's funny you should ask. Our grandpa actually custom ordered the truck, but he ordered the interior green and he got blue instead, by some mistake (thank goodness). Then again, if it had been green all this time, I guess I'd be used to it.

we installed a No Limit rack and pinion kit.

With the No Limit kit, yessir. And our frame was a bit more narrow than some? Than the V8 frames? We don't really know, so we had to extend it out a bit.
