80'S BLAZER What to look out for..
1 Attachment(s)
Going today to look at a 80's k5 blazer today. Besides the obvoius things such as body rot, int, motor, what are some things to be on the look out for? Mostly concerned with the 4X4 stuff. It has a 4" lift, new springs and dual shocks in front and blocks in back. This blazer wont see extream off roading just light trail, some mud and towing my 23 ft boat.

Slack in the drivetrain, loose transfer case chain, missing driveshafts = somthing bad, slop in the steering, loose joints at the knuckle, torn/broken rear shock mounts, cracked/broken frame at the steering box, All accessories work properly.....
|
how do you check for slop in the knuckles and drive train? could this be done during a test drive with 4X4 engaged? or does the truck need to be jacked up off the tires?

You are not going to like that cowl induction hood, why don't you just send it to me when you get it and I will get rid of it for you. :D :p :D
|
:p As a bonus it comes with hail damage at no extra cost, If I buy it will be doing the paintless dent repair on it minus the paintless part.

That looks like a nice one, do you have a Picture of the Back End? I am having my Dual Exhaust redone with Dual DynoMax Ultra Flo SS Mufflers and I would like to see how your Exhaust looks at the Angle like that.
Are those Mickey Thompson Classic II's with 33x12.50's wrapped around them? Thanks, -IoWnZa |
here is the link to it on ebay. its a good truck but needs a little to much cosmetic work for me to purchase right now.

I see what you mean, and thanks for the Link. I am going to get my new Exhaust the same way it is set up now. Coming out the back behind the tires, like every Blazer should be...
