I’m not an AD guy so my opinion doesn’t count much, but personally I think that’s some work and just putting the radio behind the center dash grille looks cleaner.

I installed a repeater so I can use the remote with the glove box closed.

I like the location but don't like the sharp squared corners. I like either the hinged speaker grill idea that some guys used or the glove box hide away that a lot of guys use.

I've see some mounted in a fitted overhead console in some rigs that half the people who look in the vehicle never notice or at least pay attention to.

I put mine behind the stock speaker grill years ago, worked well. I made the mount for the radio out of an metal ice tray as I remember. LOL But I put hinges on the bottom of the grille, magnets to hold it closed at the top and removed the ash tray and welded the cover to the grille. You simply pulled on the ash tray knob to open it.

Worked like a charm.

I just noticed something in that photo I had forgotten about. I put power windows (made from regulators out of a 63 Buick) and those switches below the rad are for them. :D Cool seeing that. With my Buick tach on the dash, dammn I can't wait to drive that thing again!

i cant remember whose truck build this is,,but I like the a/c unit they built,,,,would also make a good radio box if you were wanting it under dash..
