drop spindle question

Just getting ready to install 2 1/2 drop spindles, and was told I would have to cut away the very edge of my lower control arms, so that my rims wouldn't rub in hard turns. True?

someone correct me if i'm wrong but i believe this only applies to the 88-98 chevy's and also with the 2.5" spindle instead of a 3" one there is even less chance of this happening

It is common on the 73+Trucks equipped with 3" spindles. 2.5" spindles are said to avoid having to trim the lower control arms. It's true from what I have read, but the calipers may make contact with the inner portion of the wheel. :bowtie:

False

Unless you are running 14" whells this is not a problem. The only problem you may run into is the caliper rubbing the rim. But it is highly unlikely. Just test fit the wheels and turn them lock to lock and see what happens before you drive it.
