Question with inline 6 engine

Hallo all
I do have one of this inline 6 Chevrolet engines with the „integral head“ which I wont to use for a future project, but I do not have the exhaust manifold and it is not really easy to get one here in Germany. The cast numbers are C0N2 473483 (this should be a 250 cuin I think) FC513TCB. So, my idea is to change the head. I can buy a 235 cuin from 1966 out of a c20 with a bad crankshaft. Now my question is would it be possible to change the cylinder heads? To use the old style instead of the „integral head “? And is there anything I have to give attention to, when doing this?
Thanks for your held

Re: Question with inline 6 engine

Nothing from a 235 will fit onto a 250

if the head you have is usable you can buy new exhaust manifolds
https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo...=5860&jsn=1475

That fits the years c10 your block is from but I think your head with integral intake must be newer so you better check the fit

thanks for the advice. My problem is that rockauto does not have any exaust manifolds for sell which fit the integral head.

I think his numbers are just used wrongly, lee.
He calls it a 235 but it’s likely a 230. The 235 was gone by 1966, so it must be a 230.
The head, intake and exhaust manifolds from the 230 can replace the integral head 250.

1966 C 10 should not have a 235 it should have a 230.

According to the GM archives https://www.gm.com/content/dam/compa...olet-Truck.pdf
the base engine.

That is unless someone has cobbled (I don't know what the German term is) a 235 into a later truck. Quick iD is a 235 distributor is about half way back on the engine, a 194.230/250/292 distributor is up close to the front.

As far as I know the blocks and even head gasket are the same. Just the wonky integrated head that someone dreamed up.

You can find specs by the year on Most Chevy engines by clicking on the right year and model.
https://www.gm.com/heritage/archive/...tion-kits.html

The Rock auto cheat sheet to see what fits what helps there. By clicking on a parts number you can see what else a part fits.

The O'Reilly Autoparts website will do that in more detail but I am not sure if it will open easily in Germany and giving a tutorial for it would be a post by it's self.

Re: Question with inline 6 engine

thanks a lot to all of you for the help. I got the casting nummer from the seller, 3788406. It is a 230 cuin engine like geezer#99 mentioned. So I am going to buy the engine next week and start to one out of two. It will be a nice power unit for a litell siede project.
