Re: GM Semis

Here is a GM.
RISS bought over 500 of these "Cannonballs". RISS was based here in Kansas City and all the Cannonballs were delivered through Westfall GMC here in KC. I have a giant 2 page ad from 1955 that shows the trucks in Westfalls lot. Its to big to scan, Otherwise I would post it.

Those are great photos of the Riss trucks, now I have question, bought this truck about a year ago but haven't had time to do any research on it. Not very good pic but hope to have better pics of truck and data plate tomorrow. What number series is it. Its a 1980 Brigidere, 671 detroit, 5 and 2 and air brakes. What makes it a Brigidere instead of a number designation? more info tomorrow.

Re: GM Semis

That is a puzzle to me. I was ready to call it a 7500 model, till I saw the 2-piece Windshield.

I also notice it has 6-Spoke Wheels instead of 5.

Is it possibly Canadian made?

Still a puzzle to me. They might have done some different things later on in the newer years. I always believed that all Brigs had the new style Nose.

It definitely has 9500 specs.

Nice heavy GMC. It's a '64 or '65 Model. Did you notice what the Series is from the Emblem on the side of it? (if there, lots of times they don't get put back on after painting).

I didn't notice. The fuel tanks say top kick to me. I wonder if the cab is older than the chassis.

Could be. Unless someone just put the step tank on there.

Re: GM Semis

it doesn't matter to me if its a cab swap or for real, its still great, can't remember the last time I saw something like that on the road around here. I have a 1982 gmc 7000 4X4 with 10 hole budds, I also have a spare narrow nose pete cab and aluminum tilt hood that needs something done with it, been thinking about it along time to. I know its fairly high up on the wierd scale but it would be interesting?

Great pictures.

Can't tell if it is a '64 or a '66, but I especially like that Red Tanden Dump above.

Interesting. You wouldn't be able to answer some of the big truck questions some of us have as far as production availability was by chance?
