The biggest piece/main pump bracket doesn't look right. Needs to bolt on to thermostat housing.
See the picture below. |

Also another thread something like "292 power steering......" by
Aotte1, that you can advanced search on. The brackets are the same for both 6 cyl engines. Les |
Re: 250 power steering bracket
Which pump are you guys using and wondering where to get the pulleys needed? Im adding ps to a friends 6cyl 250 and will more than likely use aftermarket brackets off e bay

Pulleys for the fan/water pump and crank are fairly easy to find on eBay. The 230 and 250 use the same pulleys. Not sure about the 292.
The eBay version of the PS pump bracket eliminates the need for a double groove pulley on the alternator (I think). As far as hoses go, I had a terrible time finding the right high pressure PS hose. I had a 1974 1/2T GM truck PS gear box (SAE fittings) and a 1969 PS pump (SAE fittings). I could NOT find a high pressure hose that had the correct fitting for BOTH ends. Then by dumb luck, the NAPA parts store sold me a hose that was perfect. I needed to make two 90 degree bends in the metal hard line and it looks like it was made for it. Correct length and everything. See pics. So save this info if you have an inline 6 and plan to connect a PS pump to a PS gear box and are having trouble finding the correct high pressure line. |

Re: 250 power steering bracket
Hi, I know this is a really old thread but I found it trying to identify the same main power steering bracket. Did you ever figure out which 6 cylinder engine it fits?
Thanks, Mark |

Re: 250 power steering bracket
Did you buy those brackets for a non-integral head 250 and it didn't fit? It looks more like an integral head type bracket but it is different from the ones I've had in the past. I don't have any 6 cylinder engines to do a trial fit.
