Neighborhood tour de trucks

I live in a small town, the type of place you see someone you know any time you go for a walk. And it's not just people you see, but the same dogs, bikes, cars, and trucks! These three are all within four blocks of my house. I see the orange K10 Super driving sometimes. Have never seen the blue one move. And the orange 2WD has a big block, I took a look at it with the owner one day. A truck guy down the street showed up with a bright green K10 a few weeks ago, temp plates and all, but either it was passing through or he's got it in pieces in the garage because I haven't seen it again. Either way, including my '72, that's four or five 71-72 Chevies within a four-block radius... I wonder if 45 years from now you'd see that many 2017 Silverados randomly clustered?

Nice neighborhood you live in! I have a neighbor down the street with a 27k original '69 c10 that was passed down from the parents and extremely cherry!

Both of those neighborhood trucks you guys mentioned sound pretty cool. Pete, I've still never seen a 50th Anniversary truck in person, would like to.
SoCoC10, I figured everyone was sick of seeing my truck by now... but here you go. A couple photos I took last year, and unlike the above, not with my cell phone camera... :chevy: |

Mine is painted black right now. It was getting sooo rusty and several spots were real bad. About 10 years ago I took some 150 grit paper on a DA and sanded the whole thing down and put a couple of coats of cheap black enamel on it to protect it, until the day came to where I could work on it like I want.... |
Re: Neighborhood tour de trucks
I can look at old Chevy trucks all day and sometimes I do!

Re: Neighborhood tour de trucks
I was at Lowes picking up some roofing and saw a 69' parked next to my 4-Runner so I waited a little. Truck was a little rough. The guy came out and said he had had the truck for a month and it was his daily driver now. Wish I had gotten a picture. Now that mine is going and legal I hope to see him again.

Re: Neighborhood tour de trucks
Small towns are great for that. I grew up in Wyoming, and every time I go up there, I see the old iron.

Re: Neighborhood tour de trucks
If you ever find parts missing of your truck, you know what doors to knock on:) I would keep an eye on the neighbor that brought the green truck home. You might have a local 67-72 truck chop shop right down the street:)
That blue SWB is one bad Larry! |
