7100?

I just bought another truck, but do not know much about it (the PO does not either) nor do I see much info on the Internet and hope someone here may know a little about it.

This is a Chevy with a tilt fiberglass front and the cab says 7100. This looks very similar to my 76 C60 inside and out - except for the tilt hood.
Not sure of the year, and he was not sure either - maybe 1980? He is looking for the title and agreed if this cannot be found, he will apply for a lost title.

What I do know ----
It does have the 20" split rim wheels but more lugs (I did not count, but maybe 12 lugs?). The rear lugs have the square head stud.
6 speed trans.
Detroit 4-71T maybe??.
It is a 4 cylinder Detroit (Detroit is stamped on the valve cover) diesel with a turbo feeding a roots blower.
Hydraulic brakes.
The GVW tag says 24,000 lbs.

I am not finding with my searches where a 7100 exists.

I drove a truck like this one only not a tilt hood and it had gear drive fan 5speed main with 2 speed rear axle the engine was 4-53 Detroit and it would run for ever on 100 gallons of diesel.
I think the truck I drove was a 79 I remember the tilt hood trucks had the new at the time Detroit v8 fuel squeezer or pincher 4 stroke engine

By looking at pictures on the Internet, I do believe this is a 4-53 as well.
The 4-71 intake is on the opposite side.

The guy said the starter was toast, so I was trying to look up a new one.
So far - nothing at the usual parts places.

It is suppose to rain for the next week here, if I find a break, I will go take a few pics in a day or 2.

Thanks!

So I went back and took pics.
I did not really get things right the first time.
I don't know why…. but...

Inside the cab, it says manufactured during the 1979 calendar year.
VIN (if I read correctly) indicates 1980.
The truck is not a Chevy. It is a GMC.
The truck is not a 7100. It is a 7000.
The wheels do not have more lugs. there are 10 - front and rear.
The truck does not have a 6 speed trans. It has a 5 speed.
The truck does not have a Detroit 4-71T. It has a Detroit 4-53T.

Now the challenge - freeing the rear brakes.
Any recommendations for making this happen?

Are those single piece 22.5s on there? And are all 6 of them there? That is a very good thing if so, the original Accurides are exceedingly hard to find for these trucks and will make your tire choices cheaper and much easier to find.

These wheels are the 20 inch split-rim wheels. The split-rim is easier to see on the front and I have attached a pic of this.

I wish they were the 22.5's!
